Hi.....

So..................I'm into cosmetics. And i love the fashion center on CB. But we have no cosmetics area? or do we? O.O
edit: hair / facial products too!! I TRY LOADS! :D

Either way, Discuss!
-products that you really like
-products you hate
-products you want to try
-products you'd like reviewed, etc

I study this, so ask me anything!! I'd love to try and help (: And I love saving up for things and trying them. So if you have something you'd like reviewed, please ask! I "collect" makeup, you could say.. I'm always up for buying and trying it!

I have the matte mouse now and I really don't love it. Feels weird to me. I'll use the rest of it but I probably wont get it again. I do like the Revlon Matte Eyeshadows though.

I tried this stuff a couple of years ago and I didn't like it, but that might just be because I have combination skin. It left me oily, too, and prone to breakouts (and my skin typically isn't like that). I switched to Revlon Colorstay and it isn't a lot more expensive than the Maybelline. Maybe the Maybelline is better for people with dryer skin types shrug.gif

how much do you like it? do you recommend it? or is it just one of those...ehh-nehh foundations?

The Revlon Colorstay? I love it :) I have combination skin that tends to get more oily as the day progresses, and Maybelline and Cover Girl foundations would make me shiny and oily by the end of the day. The Colorstay has a lot more coverage than most drugstore brands, so I don't use it every single day (I just don't always need full coverage). My only complaint is in the packaging, which doesn't have a pump and can be messy. I read a lot of reviews on it before I bought it. You can search for them (a lot of internet make-up gurus have tried it, and there's a whole thread on it over at specktra.net)

I waited until it was on sale for $8... it was originally $11.50 or something like that.

^ That's so awesome! Tell us how the concealer goes. And I really want that lip gloss now :(

After trying to concealer for a few days, I can say it's not my favourite concealer. I mean it blends pretty nicely, but its pretty sheer since its a really liquidy concealer. I'd probably use it for those days I dont really need much concealer. My MAC nd MUFE are still my favourites!

After hearing some reviews of how good MUFE's face primer + foundation are a perfect match, I thought I'd pick it up even though it does smell a bit odd. I already have the foundation (and I love it!) and the powder, so I guess the primer would complete a set. I'm trying it out now and it feels not too bad, it kind of feels like there's no makeup on my face since it's not as thick as Smashbox's PF and it feels pretty moiturizing which I need. The smell goes away pretty quickly too haha.

- edit: Well after wearing the primer + foundation for only 6 hours at school, I can say that the primer really isnt working out for me! My face feels oily and it never feels that way normally. I feel disgusting ): I guess they were right on the package to say it is moisturizing but ew. And I dont feel like it kept the foundation on my face. I'm totally returning it tomorrow and go back to using my smashbox and body shop ones. At least with them my face feels consistent for more than 6 hours.

I also picked up Too Faced SI, since my UDPP ran out. Just a weird question but, is it better to shake the tube before using it? Since its kind of watery?

Dang, what a disapointment. I wanted to get that primter. Maybe it's just you, but I dunno. My skin is dry now so maybe I should try it.. Hmm.

Yes, shake the SI. I forgot to do it once and it was grossss.

I think you should try it since you have dry skin. I have combination skin so the primer kept my face pretty moisturized by the end of the day but the oily part of my face was just blerghh. It felt really nice applying, kind of like a moisturizer. Just give it a go, you can return it anyway if it doesnt work out at sephora (:

I might try out Body Shop's matte-it primer, it's only 14$ in canada. Its a bit thinner than smashbox's PF but for 14$ compared to 42$ I'll give it a go haha.

Hey since I am not a makeup junkie at all (clothes is another story though haha) maybe you guys can help.

I need new foundation for school. I've been using Mac Studio makeup (oldschool, I know) but its almost empty and I want something different. I have combination skin and I need light-medium coverage. I tried makeup forever which i loved, but it only lasted a few months. I'm willing to spend up to 35 bucks if it will last awhile.

I usee to use mac stuido fix both liquid and compact but then it made breakout
real bad so i switched over to dior capture totale the consistensy is really smooth,
you said you had some minimal imperfections caputre totale 's coverage is medium and i think it would really fit your skin tone (: natural good coverage dewy finish good investment ! i have used it for about 2 months hasnt made me breakout yet (:

Studio Fix is known to make people break out. I remember reading somewhere (maybe even posted in this thread) that Studio Fix is pretty thick. It gives the best coverage, but it's only meant to be worn for a couple hours. When people wear foundation, they often wear it for 6-8 (or more) hours, depending on where they go, and touching up can make it cakey.

Argh I'm so bummed out. I was so excited to go to IMATS (International Make-Up Artist Trade Show ) for the first time this year in Toronto. Sadly my super awesome teachers have assigned some last minute projects, since it's almost the end of term. I wish they scheduled it during the holidays when school was over lol

Oh well, only few weeks left till the MAC Baroque Boudoir collection comes out. The lipstick and lipgloss look gorgeous! I cant wait

What are some good eyeliners that I could get at like a drugstore? I'm too poor for the stuff at Sephora & like department stores.

I've recently tried elf cosmetics because they have it at my local Target. Not bad for the price. The eyeliner runs out so quickly though, I'm almost done with it. I rarely wear it, but it's almost gone.

You should try L'Oreal HIP cream eyeliner. There's been some good reviews on it. My friend uses it and she really likes it. You can find then at Target.

I've never really used foundation before because I haven't felt the need to. But I decided to try it out... instead of spending a ton of money on a real nice expensive one, I wanted to start with something simple since I only wanted to try it out and such. I ended up buying Almay True Lasting Color 16 hr foundation and I actually like it. It really does last throughout the whole day, plus it's smooth and thin so I don't even feel/notice that I'm wearing it. My skin never gets oily either so that helps. I guess if anyone is looking for a pretty inexpensive foundation, I would recommend this.

my foundation ran out last week.
so I decided to try the MUFE HD collection
hd powder and hd foundation , anticerness concealer
Im in LOVE with the HD foundation good coverage and silky smooth!
I stipple on the foundation with the MAC 187..perfect airbrushed look.
I think the hype over the HD powder..not overly excited about it it's super matte
but it's make's your skin smooth. Im more of a dewy finish person, so -1 on the powder.
