Ok. I know a lot of you love Tim Burton and I'm really happy for you, truly.

Me? I want him nowhere near Alice in Wonderland.

The characters look a lot less stupid when they're actually moving. I was really disturbed by Tweedledum and Tweedledee at first, but they actually looked okay in the trailer.

I don't know, I'm excited. <3

I think the guy's a genius, and I would love to see his take on things.
I also agree to those who pointed out that Alice in Wonderland is already a dark and twisted fairy tale, so there really isn't that much to it :)

Side note: I'd really like him to see work on The Little Mermaid, considering the original plot was a miserable one...

i did watch the trailer.
i must say i'm excited. it does look very dark but it is Tim Burton. I'm so freakin thankful that it's not fully animated!! & johnny depp looks disturbing. Seriously. It creeps me out.

Kinda irritated that they already have the teaser trailer out when it's 8 months awayyyyy. :\

EDIT//
oh and Alan Rickman (snape from harry potter) is going to play the catapillar while Helena Bonham Carter (bellatrix lestrange from harry potter) will be the Red Queen! :) omggg

And I hate people who can't step down from their high horse long enough to just sit back and enjoy a flashy movie with little substance once in awhile.

The feeling is mutual.

Eh, kind of have to side with Nate on this (minus hating sixteen year-olds, although I have met some pretty annoying ones haha). There are very few Burton films I enjoy, and it has nothing to do with the lack of content. I mean, I like Xanadu and Clash of the Titans, for goodness sake. I think that he has regurgitated his "material" and "style" so often that I can smell the vomit before entering a movie theater to see a film of his.

That and the whole casting incest he does gets flat out boring. I get it, he loves Johnny and Helena. Both of them, outside of Burton films I like. It's really odd. I also understand that he's not the only director to do this. Apatow constantly re-casts the fam. However, he at least mixes things up by changing lead roles and such. And on a side note, he's getting boring to me now as well for similar reasons. NEW MATERIAL, folks. Please.

I just wish that there would be an Alice in Wonderland, grounded in more realism than surrealism. That would make it actually creepy, instead of schtick-y. Lewis Carroll was sort of a creepy dude. We've already seen Alice in Wonderland done via zany. And must I remind people of the tragedy that was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? OH GOD.

I can completely see why people don't like Tim Burton movies. His movies are all the same in the end. But in his defense, if it ain't broke don't fix it. He's developed a huge fan base and knows that the money will keep rolling in if he feeds people dark fantasy movies with Johnny Depp in them. It may not gain the respect of movie aficionados, but I personally can't blame a guy for wanting make a little money. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm somehow entranced by it every time.
