the devil wears prada - lauren weisberger

my brother makes fun of me about how that movie is a chick movie. i love it though _unsure.gif it makes me laugh a ton for some reason. so i'm going to read the book.

QUOTE(brooklyneast05 @ Mar 4 2009, 11:07 AM) *
yeah i've heard the book is way better so i'm looking forward to that since i liked the movie so much. a friend and i are always saying how we feel like watching the movie. it's just so f*cking funny to me. i felt this same way with legally blonde, i watched it like every other day for weeks when i had mono and would laugh hysterically. i guess that could have been cause i had a fever and was delirious though.

this will be a nice break from all the serious non fiction books i'm always reading.

what are some things that you like that uncharacteristic or unexpected?

like for instance when people see me, a big black dude, i doubt that they are like oh yeah i bet that guy likes the devil wears prada, legally blonde, and the hills. what are some things about you like that are unexpected? or are you just one of those annoyingly boring people who only like shit that you're "supposed" to like? be honest mellow.gif

I like iced tea. But not with lemon.

Also, Industrial isn't just techno with words.

A lot of people that I meet think it's weird that I listen to metal music. I have an eclectic taste in music, though.

Hm, I don't know what people expect me to be in to, so it's hard to say if anything that I'm actual in to is out of place.

well, i have an unexpected dislike actually:

since i'm hispanic, people assume that i like spicy food. but i can only tolerate so much. i don't put hot sauce on ANY of my stuff like my aunt does. she has to put picante on almost everything.

people used to be surprised that i listened to rap & hip hop in elementary school. i guess it's because i was a very quite and one of the more intelligent kids. i don't know. but they were really surprised.

Same here.

I unexpectedly like this Urban Decay Pocket Rocket lip gloss that has a "pin-up" style holographic image of a (hot) guy in varying stages of undress (reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer looks at the pens with the pin-up women at the Kwik-E-Mart for ages). Plus the ink on the tube releases pheromones.

Now I don't know about the pheromones but the guys on the top of the tube really appeal to me. Surprisingly. It's gimmicky and shit but I don't care, I need one of these bad boys (literally?).

me either. i don't like how stacy refers to a lot of things. also sometimes, or most times really, her criticism is really over the top and comes off as trying too hard. oh and another thing, i don't get why they throw ALL their clothes away and only buy 5 outfits to replace all of it. i don't believe they really get rid of all those clothes.

Yea they actually get rid of all of their clothes except the ones they find that are fine to keep. The clothes they do put in the garbage on the show they actually donate. Also they do get a lot of clothes for $5000 they just don't show you all of it and there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that happens on this show that we don't get to see and they do spend a lot of time with the people they choose for the show.

But yea, I don't like stacy either.

And I typically don't come off as someone that would watch the show Gossip Girls but I love it, I have seen every episode and I can't miss it. I love almost all of the shows on TLC too. I watch all the baby shows and the shows about the families and such.

edit/// after finishing the 1st page, I noticed I just pretty much repeated what Gigi I believe was it said, hah. Figures.

Everyone is even more surprised when they find out my favorite musical artist of all time is Katy Perry.

I don't find that surprising at all.

I don't know if anyone would be surprised at anything I like. I live my life pretty openly, I don't hide anything... Based on first impressions, I think people would be surprised to find that I'm a vegetarian and that I really want to get tatted up. And that if I could be anything in the world I would be a rock star or a race car driver.
