Your muscles can become stronger than your joints, so in this case with squats... if you squat more than your knees can handle your knees will easily rip right out of their sockets. There was a famous bodybuilder who was squatting and both of his knees literally tore and it was the most disgusting thing I ever saw in bodybuildling.
