Grammys tomorrow! They're becoming increasingly irrelevant, really, but I'm still excited, especially to see who gets Best New Artist. I'm rooting for my girls Adele and Jazmine Sullivan.

Oh for sure ADELE. She has a fantastic voice. I've been hearing that Coldplay may win a lot of the Grammys (is it Grammys or Grammies? Grammys, right?). I was going to say we should do predictions but this list is soooo long.

Adele = throb.gif 19 was an AMAZING CD. Seriouslyyyyyy.

I wouldn't mind if Coldplay won. Viva La Vida was SO worth the wait.

Your first guess was right, it's Grammys. We can do predictions for the major categories: Best Record, Album, Song, New Artist.

Edit: So I'm reading all the nominees, right, and why the hell is Daft Punk nominated for "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger?"

AND WTF, ROBYN GOT A NOMINATION?! THAT ALBUM IS THREE YEARS OLD.

Best Record will probably go to Coldplay/Viva La Vida. Adele seems like the only other one who'd have a chance.

Best Album, i'm hedging, will be Coldplay again.

If Jason Mraz wins for best song..pffffttttt.

Adele should win best artist. Unless they give it to The Jonas Brothers. sick.gif

Edit: Once of Daft Punk's CD's is from '07. I thought it was just over material released in that year?

Alright let's do it!

Record of the Year
Who I think will win: Coldplay
Who I think should win: Adele

Album of the Year
Who I think will win: Coldplay
Who I think should win: Coldplay
(Wasn't sure about this one)

Song of the Year
Who I think will win: Estelle's "American Boy" (only because I heard it every 5 seconds on the radio)
Who I think should win: Adele's "Chasing Pavements"

Best New Artist
Who I think will win: Jonas Brothers (because well they had a good year)
Who I think should win: Adele

Nah, the Grammy has a long history of honoring old folks before youngins. I'm gonna give Record of the Year to Robert Plant & Allison Krauss. I'm gonna give them Best Album too. I'm hoping for a Lil Wayne upset though because that shit will be EPIC.

Best Song should go to Adele but other than Coldplay I don't find any of the other nominees objectionable. But "Chasing Pavements" is just a fantastically written song.

Best New Artist, please please please let it be Adele or Jazmine Sullivan!

Edit: You know what? Jonas Brothers shouldn't even be nominated for Best New Artist. Aren't they on their third album?

If JoBro win Best New Artist, I might not watch another Grammys. Ever.

On to more pleasant subjects, I can't wait to see Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and T.I. do "Swagga Like Us!" That has the potential to be amazing.

Oh man I can't wait to see that either. Who else is performing? I'm so out of the loop with the Grammys this year.

^ I don't know. I'm trying to find a list of performers but I can't.

Oh my god, I just read that M.I.A. is going to do "Swagga Like Us" too. She's SUPER pregnant. Like, her-water-might-break-on-stage pregnant. Oh! But in that same article, they mention that Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Neil Diamond, Radiohead, Coldplay, U2 and Sir Paul McCartney are performing so there's some people.

Edit: More performers: Adele, Chris Brown, Sugarland, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift (performing together), Estelle and Kanye West, as well as a Four Tops tribute segment with performances by Duke Fakir, Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo.

Edit: Ugh, and Kid Rock. Lame.

Justin Timberlake (wtf is he gonna sing? He didn't have an album out this year). And, wtf, Dave Grohl is gonna team up with Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and the Jonas Brothers. And apparently USC's marching band is going to perform with Radiohead.

And Kenny Chesney, Jennifer Hudson, Katy Perry, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Rihanna, and Carrie Underwood.

How are they going to fit all this music into three hours? ermm.gif

Radiohead's performing! Finally. It'll be the first performance they've done in the US in 8 years. Dude, if they actually play 15 Step with a marching band at the Grammys I will piss my pants.

^ I was wondering where USC's marching band fit in to all of this. That takes care of that.

Apparently Stevie digs the JoBro. Seriously, not making that up. I read it.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Edit: From the LA Times:
QUOTE
"The beauty of that," said Jack Sussman, CBS' executive VP for music specials, "is that Stevie is an icon that the Jonas Brothers look up to. He believes in them and their talent, and the audience will see that they are really good musicians, which they sometimes don't get enough credit for. You have to give them props for walking out there with him."
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog...y-countd-4.html

Edit: I just realized that Lykke Li ain't nominated for a Grammy. WTF.
