"Coldest Winter" is straight fire.

Edit: "Heartless" reminds me a lot of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight." "In the Air Tonight" is much better.

damn i just listened to streetlights . i feel like i've heard half the songs on this album now ermm.gif either way though, out of the songs i've heard love lockdown is for sure the worst. i still don't like that song...rest of the stuff has been cool though. not hip hop granted, but cool.

i just watched an interview with kanye saying he wants his own genre called "pop art", he wants itunes to list his new music in that. boarder line silly to me, but hey, at least he knows he's working in another genre now.

video link for anyone who wants to watch that press confrence interview

gives opinions on pop music and him being into pop music now. interesting if you're a kanye fan.

I listened to a remaster of "Love Lockdown" and it's definitely made me appreciate the song a lot more. It's definitely not my favorite 'Ye song ever but it's not the worst. That dishonor goes to "Drunk and Hot Girls." That damn song pissed me the f*ck off when I first heard it. I don't believe he AND Mos Def lowered themselves that much to record that piece of shit.

I didn't imagine his album to have songs like these. My favorites so far are probably Heartless & Streetlights.

I lalalove the video posted above though. The heart.. itssocute. Haha. Whatta nice idea. For some reason, the name of this album really got my attention lol.

As for his new jumpoff, Love Lockdown is growing on me, as well as his new sound. He'll never be able to put out another 'College Dropout' because his lifestyle has changed. His new approach to music suits him as well as the Armani he rocks.

I don't particularly dislike AutoTune, but whyyyy does it have to be SO obvious on Kanye's tracks?

And, after listening to "The Coldest Winter" and "Amazing", both so much better than "Love Lockdown", I am totally confused on why he decide to release LL as the lead single. :/

Love Lockdown is already receiving critical acclaim as a 'crossover success.' It was a good move, even though Americans don't really get it, yet.

There's a lot you can do with AutoTune. He's intentionally overdoing it. Think: Roger Troutman.

Ooh, new light, new light. It's just...it reminds me of Justin's SexyBack, which always kills me a little inside when I remember he can actually sing and being robot-ized never helps that. Also, I think the over-AutoTuning takes away from the emotional appeal (and abundance, I guess) of the album. Even though it wasn't the greatest quality singing, I prefer his voice in the Grammy version of Hey Mama than in LL specifically. Really, really loving Coldest Winter, though.

Good point. He is expected to release an album in May that is more of what we're accustomed to. So we'll see. 808s and Heartbreak is an album you have to get three of; one for the house, one for the car, and one to keep in the plastic 'cause you know it's a classic.

I understand the direction Kanye is trying to take it and admire that, but I'm not really feeling this CD for the most part with the exception of Heartless and Coldest Winter.

Only reason I played Love Lockdown was because the bass sounds nice in my car.

The album version of Robocop sounds alot different. So does a few other songs. The album isn't as good as his others but def worth a listen.

Amazing ft. Young Jeezy, See you In My Nightmares ft. Lil Wayne, Heartless & Coldest Winter are the best tracks IMO. The rest I don't care for.

I'm with Evan though, Amazing is so freaking sick.

Jealous.

For some odd reason, Amazon isn't shipping to APO addresses. I'm pissed. There's a list of LPs I need to get my hands on (to inclde 808&H), and these jive muthaf-ckas don't ship to my address. stubborn.gif
