Starts in a half hour. Who's watching it, and what do you expect from it?

she pranced around questions and didnt really put up and didnt really say anything sparking or interesting, not a great debate from her but she did sound a little bit more knowledgable.
Biden was pretty strong and attacked moderately without looking like a bully. he did well. as far as both of them saying what their president candidate would do, as part of their job right now, they have to let the people know who is obama, who is mccain. vice president backs up the president |

all sarah palin had to do was say a few smart sentences, so she passed the test-for herself, not mccain.
but joe biden obviously did a better job (even though i'm slightly bias since i'm in love with him, hahaa) and he did what he was supposed to do-attack mccain and his policies. he showed great restraint which must have been so hard for him! and ohh, when he brought up the topic of his sons ![]() |

she pranced around questions As did Biden. For example, neither candidate answered the question about what they perceive their Achilles' heel to be. And when they were asked about how their administration would differ from their respective candidates if something were to happen to them, both of them pretty much droned on about how tightly they share their viewpoints instead of going along with the question. That was actually the only question that Palin did better at answering because she at least made reference to her difference with McCain on ANWR. So Palin didn't do as atrociously as I thought she would, but Biden definitely came out looking the better of the two. |

Yeah, no. I have that exact clip right in front of me. Neither answered the question. Biden started off with a joke and then said, "Others talk about my excessive passion." He then went on to say how he's "not going to change" before moving on to saying how his and Obama's record is more substantiative than McCain's. That's not saying what your Achilles' heel is.

Didn't that identify "excessive passion" as his Achilles heel? It's at least an acknowledgment of the question, which is more than Palin did.

Didn't that identify "excessive passion" as his Achilles heel? It's at least an acknowledgment of the question, which is more than Palin did. That would be identifying what others think your Achilles' heel is, not what you think it to be. If he had said, "I think I have a problem with excessive passion", that would at least be direct, but also a complete cop-out, as if being passionate is hard-hitting criticism of one's own character. On the questions that Biden did address directly, though (and it was a lot of them), he did a very good job. He was able to cite specific pieces of legislation and the contexts that went around them. |

Palin changed subjects and veered off course the whole night. She'd always go back to "my strong loving family this my close family that" who the f**k cares about your family? I want straight direct answers about the topics at hand. And have ya'll noticed all of the unnecessary smiling that McCain/Palin have done throughout these debates? WHY are the smiling as they're talking about war and they failing economy?? I'm not saying Obama/Biden were perfect, they had some flaws in their answers, but they seemed to take the debate much more seriously.

i agree with teesa, she looked good for herself. she did good enough to quiet down all the katie couric interview talk. she didn't come off like a complete idiot. it wasn't a performance that would sway the undecided voters imo. then again, i don't think vp's doing good is going to sway them too much anyway. for the people who support her and have had to watch her be a really big dumbass for the last week or so, it probably makes them feel a little less stupid for supporting her.
i thought biden won though. i thought when he was direct he did a better job, and either way he looked more ready to be a president than she did. i just can't see her running the country... QUOTE "I may not answer the question

although I will say that I was impressed with the fact that Palin could spew out her memorized answers (although getting some of them wrong) and keep the whole soccer mom thing going. And now, she just needs to get back to alaska and stay there until she withers.

Overall I think that Biden won. As some have stated before, he was much more clear and concise with his answers. He is definitely somebody that should be leading this country should something happen to Obama. Palin did what she was supposed to do, and that was quiet some of the critics. Did she have some classic Palin moments along the way? Yes....but she also was able to remain even throughout the night.

And now, she just needs to get back to alaska and stay there until she withers. Funny you should say that. The whole time I was thinking that she would be a really good actress, seeing as she's good at memorizing scripts and staying in character. |
