my friends and ive been noticing WHY guys these days dont want to be in relationships (the boyfreind/girlfriend status) anymore? some would want to be in a "open relationship", leave it as "dating" but nothing farther than that, or the classic sayings "im not ready/i need time/ i want to stay single/ i dont want to hurt you..etc"...?

but seriously though, why is that? its hard to even find a guy youre interested in and wants to be in a relationship :/ do guys just not want to deal with it all together or what?

A lot of guys don't want to be in a committed relationship because they just want to have fun dating different girls. They don't want to be tied down so young. (I make it sound like they're getting married or something. rolleyes.gif) Even if you don't see a committed relationship as something serious, they might.

I'm a girl and I don't want to be in a serious relationship right now. I mean, I'm going to school full time, working part time, and taking care of my mom and helping the rest of the family. Being with someone shouldn't feel like a job or another responsibility, so I think it's fair to the other person to avoid that happening. You may just not be looking the right place, either.

that true, i thought about that as a possibility as well...but sometimes i dont get some guys because they say they want someone to be with but then they dont. but anywho, haha somtimes i like to guys are just kinda lazy about the whole relationship part because its "serious" and it has to deal w/ a lot of work (which i totally understand because it is). it just kinda makes me bum out a bit because i see other people in one around my age and its like "WHERE CAN I FIND ME ONE OF THOSE?!" haha. laugh.gif

(love the username btw :] haha.)
yeah im in the same position as you, full time student, working part time, and helping the mom out. but yeah, probably i am looking in the wrong place who knows? it just would be real nice to have someone else to care about you, do all that sweet stuff, and etc. but hey, we'll see. the semester did just start for me, so probably some real contenders out there haha.

to tomates:
wow really? well the people at my school are either with somebody or the ones that dont want to be in a relationship. but its not just at school, it other places as well but then again im not the only experiencing this but yeahh, haha i should go to your school then ahha.

yeah i think those are the feelings that everybody goes through too..the freedom of being single and then the urge/wanting of being in a relationship. ahhh another reason why we cant have everything we want :/

Haha, thanks.

Honestly, you're in high school so you should be able to go out and have and have somewhere there for you. That doesn't mean that you have to get into a really serious relationship. Make sure that you both understand what type of relationship (for lack of better words) you both are getting into. Soon you'll be going to college and you'll have even more opportunities to meet people. Most of the guys that I went to school with were immature, haha.

I will take the time to quote from a movie:
"You gotta be gettin' that young stuff! The young stuff is the best stuff in the world. You see you're jail bait, their jail bait. It's perfect. You turn eighteen and you're looking at three to five. "

It's because they got to f**k everything in sight before they aren't allowed to anymore and can get in serious trouble.

That's why they want to be in "open relationships"

Go find someone over 18.

and yes, I'm kidding, maybe.

Well I've fooled around too much at this point. I've hurt people, and I've ruined relationships.

For me, at this point, I'm ready to just find one girl who is cool to hang out with and hold on to her.

Doubt it will happen though :/

they prolly don't wanna have to deal w/ the drama. They jst want to have fun right now. Not have to worry about somebody gettin' hurt or somebody being jealous or cheating...some People jst don't wanna be committed right now, its not jst the guys, its the girls as well...They don't wanna be locked down on one person... especially @ dances...they dont wanna be stuck dancing with jst one person all night. yadidi? Single people are free to flirt w/ anyone and talk to anyone and Taken people can't do that...plus some people are too tied down on work and school to be juggling a relationship as well...its stressful yo..

because a lot girls become so overly obsessive so fast that you have to put out disclaimers prior to showing any interest or else they will be talking about weddings and shit a month into it

uhhh, im not saying its a huge problem that they say they dont want to be. and i honestly do love that they are being honest..just that its weird that most guys are being like that now. so its hard to find one that wants to be IN one.

Well not much as changed, and it shouldn't be surprising that most college guys are not into relationships. If you had an unlimited ammo gun in a shop full of china cabinets, you wouldn't just shoot one plate now would you?

I hate how girls are always like "omg he's my soulmate!" when they've been dating someone for only, like 2 months. I've met some guys that are like that too.

Maybe everyone who is 14 - 18 figured out, "hey, we're 14 - 18. why are we acting like we're getting married?"

considering in america, there's a 1/2 chance the marriage's gonna work out, right? haha

serious relationships should be avoided in highschool, that is the time where you get to really explore your sexuality, so why settle down? college, get a sweetie, for now enjoy yourself.

I think that its hard for guys to be in a serious relationship because they are afraid of getting hurt.

Girls are mean, end of story.
