I hate it when a guy doesn't get the tab..., and I have to pull my money out and that looks bad.

Ugh, I'm dating a guy that is a cheap ass. I go out with him I have to pay for everything and I drive him when we go out. I'm sick of this.
Do you have a guy that is a cheap ass and doesn't want to pay for anything and uses you as a taxi driver?

And guys, do you hate to pay for everything? Do think it's best to split the bill?

guys should pay 2/3 of the time. That's how I always do it. I don't even have to tell my girl that when we date. She should know I'm not a BANK and can afford to pay EVERYTIME. Although guys should pay more often than girls though imo. But yeah.

I am more even. Equal payments. Generally I don't think dating should be so gender bias for payments. That's just me though.

I don't mind paying for half, but now and then I would like him to at least pay for the food and I pay for the gas. stubborn.gif
I have to pay for gas and food.

i try to be equal. we usually split things, like he'll drive his car and i'll buy food. or if we go to the movies i'll buy the tickets and he'll pay for food. i know he has to work just as hard as i do for his money, so i don't mind paying. of course if he never paid and always expected me to take him everywhere and pay for everything, i'd be pretty pissed. you should straight up tell him that you're nobody's sugar mama and that if he wants anything to cotinue between the two of you he should split the costs with you or atleast give you some gas money.

I pretty much trade off. Like I would drive, and she would buy food or etc. Though it's shows you love them if you pay for both once in a while. But most of the time, half/half or a pair.

lol. sux4u. one of my exes was also a scrub. i paid for everything, ranging from dinners and movies to simple things like cab fare. stupid imo, 'cause at the time he had a full time job, and i was freelancing. never again.

of course i'm always willing to pay for half and even all of it, but now i'm with a true gentleman, who would never ask me to lift a finger. that's how it should be.

I think, in this day and age, girls should at least offer to pay.
If the guy turns the offer down, then he gets bonus points.
If not, then going dutch isn't such a bad thing.

Generally, though, the guys should pay for stuff more than the girl.
You're in an uncomfortable position because money's always an iffy issue with everybody.

Let him know that you'll pick the tab from time to time, but you're not exactly pooping out dollar bills.

Well, it's better that you drive when you guys out, rather than having his parents drive or worse walking, that is... if he doesn't have a car.

I can understand that if you're dating someone that they don't have a car and that would put you in a position that whenever the two of you go out, that you will inevitably be put to drive.

But I agree with Tung on the 2/3 deal. I've also been a strong believer that if you are the one that is inviting someone else to dinner (i.e. you ask him, wanna go to dinner tonight) than you shouldn't be able to ask him to pay for you.

He does have a car mellow.gif

Then he would be saying I don't have money, then I drive him to CVS to buy whitening for his teeth. stubborn.gif

I agree. I NEVER expect someone to pay for me, but for me to pay for them all the time is just unfair. Even when I go out with friends it's usually a "Oh, you got it last time. I'll get it this time." deal.

i think its too muhc to ask to always split the bill or trade off driving every single time, but you should try to keep it even.

Trading off on who gets to pick up the tab is best.
Though it shouldn't be so systematic.

Have you talked to him yet?

Do you make your own money? Do your parents give you money? Are you just worried about looking bad?

I went out with this girl whose parents gave her tons of money. Therefore, she paid a lot of times, and she didn't mind. We were both happy. Sure it kind of looks bad, but I don't care... I can use the 50 dollars I save to buy myself 50 double cheeseburgers.

Haha, wow I would dumb that guy.

I don't know, most of the time Josh drives around but sometimes I will. I think I scare him when I'm driving because I hate slow drivers and I yell at people >_>

But when it comes to going out and stuff we usually split it up, or he'll pay this time and I'll pay for something the next time. Or he'll pay for the movie and I'll pay for dinner after. Something like that.

My boyfriend is only sixteen and doesn't have a job, so I know what it feels like, but it honestly doesn't bother me. I know he's trying to get a job, so it's not like he's worthless.

I drive and pay for almost everything, and it doesn't bother me because I love my boyfriend enough to do that.

If it bothers you so, talk to him about it.

BTW- I love Avril too. :)
