for some odd reason people who love the movie The Breakfast Club hate this commercial. I find it odd because I love The Breakfast club and I love this commercial. Well am I the only one?

It's great that people realize that The Breakfast Club is an awesome movie (well, maybe not ^), but I'm so sick and tired of seeing all these copycats! Has anyone seen the poster for American Teen?

Haha the main reason I hate the movie is I really really hate Molly Ringwald because she almost always played the same freaking character in her movies. She annoys the crap out of me. If it had been someone else in her role it would have been ok.

Haha I agree with you about Molly Ringwald playing the same role in every movie. Talk about typecast. =\

Not that I mind. I personally like cheesy chick flicks from the '80s. =]

Uh, I actually never realized it was from the Breakfast Club until I saw this thread. Not a huge fan of the movie, but I enjoyed it.

I have no issue with the cheesy chick flicks from the '80s. I love St. Elmo's Fire, About Last Night, pretty much anything without Molly Ringwald. She's just annoying.

American Teen was actually pretty good, but I hadn't read the poster (I still can't, really, but the first line is more Breakfast Club than I realized)

I... sort of like it. I guess they're just trying to put a modern twist on it. It's cute. Just watching the commercial makes me want to watch the movie. XD.gif

I don't really care for it. I like The Breakfast Club, but I don't love it. Granted, the thing about it that annoys me are all the people that don't know what The Breakfast Club is, so JCP gets credited for an idea they didn't even come up with.

Found the Breakfast Club poster. I thought the clothes in the American Teen looked like the clothes in the Breakfast Club...

Wow, definitely did not realize it was that close. I'm honesty really glad I saw American Teen before I did any of the trailers or posters for it.

I've never seen the movie but the commercial's annoying. I also hate that Jonas Brothers Target commercial. Jonas Brothers singing hello goodbye? NO. The other day I was in a store and they were playing the original beatles version and these pre-teen girls were like "OMG that's the Jonas Brothers' song!" I wanted to kill them.

laugh.gif Same here.

It would be nice if people could come up with unique ideas instead of rehashing old ones (especially when they've already been used on several occasions).

Then again, I guess imitation is a form of flattery. I still think that people just lack in imagination and creativity for the most part.

That's just tragic.

Also kind of makes me wonder if the producers of the commercial bothered to note that when the kids there cast are immitating were doing all the crazy dancing in the library, it was because they were all stoned.

Molly was the 80's teen queen of chick flicks. yeah, she practically played the same role in every movie, but i still loved all her movies. XD.gif

i think JCP needs some original ideas. I hate those dumb commercials, but that's probably because i hate JCPenney. i worked there for over a year... _dry.gif

I forgot about that. laugh.gif I bet they figured the people it was aimed at wouldn't know about The Breakfast Club, and the people who knew about it would think it was funny.
