I'll always remember Chris Brown as the kid with a lisp like thissssss who somehow made it up to the top.

Lupe Fiasco

well making it big on the charts =/= great artist

i'm pretty sure the story of SOULJA BOY is self-explanatory, artists don't necessarily have to have talent, just the "look/appeal."
......?!

her recent songs don't showcase her vocal abilities as much I guess, but mariah carey can DEFINITELY sing.

Betty don't ever talk about Soulja Boy again. mad.gif

He has the ability to make people dance. iDance iDance.

Ugh, I wish you were at the concert with me. His set was so great. I'd rate it Kanye, Lupe, N.E.R.D. (only because they played a short ass set), and then Rihanna.

Amen to John Legend.

Sean Kingston is overrated imo. Actually, I haven't really given the brotha much of a chance, so I dunno.

^ I really don't like Sean Kingston's voice. Plus his songs kind of annoy me no matter how catchy they may be.

Hmm... Oh, I really don't like Katy Perry. I thought she was a guy when I first heard "I Kissed A Girl". Voice-wise.

LOL CASSIE ya she was horrible, good thing she's no longer part of the music industry.

nicole fromt he PCD isn't that bad of a singer actually

madonna and mariah carey are just ... getting old and trying to keep up with the current trends in music and not displaying their talents fully anymore (err if they still have it)

Nicole Scherzinger can actually sing.

People keep in mind, that when we say sing, we mean SING NOT RAP.

Did Kanye do Flashing Lights, that and Stronger were probably his best songs on that album imo. I saw an article the other day where he showed up late to a gig and got booed.

-----------

Truth be told most of these singers today don't compare to Tevin Campbell. And before you try to refute my statement , listen to 3:17 to 3:35 :

then tell me how many vocalist male and female is messing with that? Omarion, Chris Brown, not even Usher (and I'm a Usher fan), aren't even seeing Tevin on that level. They just don't make singers like they used to. Only male vocalist I seen above Tevin is the guy from Earth Wind and Fire. But do not misunderstand me here, better singer does not equal better song.

If you want to take it back, nobody will ever be the showman that David Ruffin was.
