I'm only a freshman in high school. But I'm already thinking about it. I'm gonna try to get into Northwestern or Bethel so scholarshipsscholarshipsscholarships!

Don't use student loans. Those take forever to pay off.

i thought fafsa givee u alot..

maybe i needa switch to diff college.. :(

Did you ever think maybe FAFSA wont give you shit because its impossible how someone in COLLEGE types and im sure articulates at a level way below average... mellow.gif

so basically, your a f**king retard who cant type and ergo cant get any kind of scholarship/funding. laugh.gif

BTW, im boycotting all of his threads, and i suggest everyone else does too. I dont think he really deserves the attention (good or bad).

His posts may be ignorantly written and at times always irritating to read, but I'm going to assume that this does help other members or anyone viewing this thread who want to know how much people are getting or how to get it. It's just that the topic creator is going about it all wrong, that is all. If another topic was made by a member who is more coherent, I think that would be okay, but then again we aren't allowed to have duplicate topics.

Obviously you don't understand how fafsa works. Your parents have to file taxes and bunch of other stuff, and then it's reported through fafsa. Either Yanlin's family make too much money to qualify for a big grant or she didn't file one because of the hassle. BTW Yanlin, did you file one? Since your parents are in HK, how would information be reported? You know what I mean? sweating.gif

I didn't file FAFSA this year. While I probably lost my scholarship and my parents are going to kill me, I'm still not getting any financial aid, so whatever. My "financial aid" this year was about a $3000 loan that I didn't need, because it wouldn't really be helping anything.

I can't file for FAFSA because I'm not American. And my school didn't offer me any financial aid because my dad had to send a bank report(?) giving them a general idea of how much money he has in the bank and how much he earns. They decided that my parents earn enough to pay for college, and so no financial aid for me.

I find it both good and bad. It's good because when I graduate, I won't be in debt. Well, the only debt that I will be in, is paying back my parents. But I won't have to pay off loans and such. The downside of my parents having to pay for college is the fact that they are unable to pay for college and buy an apartment at the same time. Therefore, they're still renting with the housing prices going up insanely in HK.

And also I plan to reduce the ammount of tuition by getting som scholarship money. I already got a few.

That's totally not true. Being black doesn't mean that you go to college for free.

i think alot of us know that. but there's alot of lazy people who don't want to put the effort in it. i mean take 2-3 hours writing an essay for the specific scholarship you want, to pay off some of your tuition, and you're going to be lazy for that? you don't deserve to be in college with that thinking..

I hate motherf**kers who don't have ambition. All you have to do is sit there and boast about yourself and make yourself seem like a God to these campuses and bam you get partial/fully free education.

I think we should exterminate ambitionless human beings. (Yes serious)

That's so true, my brother just received 2 scholarships for being tall & another for his shoe size...I received $500 for having asthma & $1,000 for being a girl scout, & etc....People try fastweb.com, go to your local library or counselor for scholarship books, contact your prospective college's financial aid office (usually depending on your SAT scores colleges will be sending you info anyway), & last but not least just search the internet; some of you spend your lives on the internet anyway, why not use it to ensure your educational future for once. If you work hard you can get money; my dad's finding scholarships for my brother & I (even though I'm in college now, but I have grad school next & it's never too late to find money)...it's a lot better than loans :)

OMG! how old are you? Why do you type like a sped? anyway you either search for money or pay out of pocket (parents or your own); plain & simple...If you can't be responsible & do what you have to do to get what you need then you're not ready to go to college.
