Wow... this is the most homosexual f**kin thread in the world. And so is the stupid ass gringo who created this shitty ass homosexual thread. And all his bands look like they belong to the emo genre. f**kin homo.
"At least my music isn't spoon fed to me" shut the f**k up, wanker.

Sorry... I was reading the thread and by the time I got to page two I was already pissed off with this guy. Ignorant threads deserve to get bashed ignorantly.

Sorry again, please forgive me.

agreed. i mean, what if i made a list of classical composers; would you be able to judge my music taste/knowledge or whatever?

music is too broad; if you were an elitist you'd probably have to have gone to a music school and studied extensively and have a ph.d in music theology _smile.gif

well this is only for cb so im sure the person with at least the most knowledge of music will win right?

That's the thing... no one has the right to sit here and judge any genre and act like they have the most knowledge in music. That's ignorantly impossible (almost an oxymoron). Unless the genre itself only produces an agenda of lies, down playing, degradation, and brain washing, then you can go ahead and call em' out for what they are. But for f**k sake, this wanker from hicksville is sittin here tryin to tell us all music except his genre sucks. The f**k? I bet I mosh better than this retard. =\

Anyways, I'm outs. I'm gonna end up blowing up a hospital.

I would be surprised if you had any f**king clue what emotive hardcore "looked" like.

I don't think anyone is assuming such a "right." The intent here is to find people that are passionate about music, have a refined taste (in that they have done enough searching that their list is personal and interesting), and can intelligently discuss music. Of course, to an extent, there is a deal of personal bias, but this isn't something that should be taken so seriously. If you actually read the thread, you might have already understood these things.

Genre? There are many genres represented here.
Your evaluation of the situation really highlights your ignorance of it.

Slam dance better? That doesn't make any sense. That whole idea is entirely counter-intuitive. Moshing us to be about chaos - indiscriminate chaos. Kids shuffled around in a pit and harmlessly bounced off of one another (though we all know it's not exactly harmless). Being better at that doesn't really make much sense. You seem to be suggesting some sort of machismo superiority here... do you like target the kids who dress differently than yourself and elbow in the face? If so, very uncool. That's the kind of shit the ruined hardcore, and has been ruining rock music ever since the 1970's.

I just sat there and read 2 pages... all he did was make fun of the titles people listed AND slammed them for it. And the only thing that's ruining rock music is rock itself. The originality of it no longer exists. Rock is pretty much dead. Don't get me wrong, it's a great genre but it's pretty much dead. Talk about beatin a dead horse.

edit/ huh, I didn't stop to actually read the thread. I don't really have any interest in applying to whatever club (I guess I didn't really read the title of the thread, either). The only thing I read was "list your top 20 fav artist/albums" and felt like looking through my ipod and trying to find my top 20 artist/album. I'm not interested in whoever's trying to judge my taste in music. I like what makes me happy and that's that.

/edit

hm, top 20 artists? I've never EVER stopped to think about this, so here goes nothing...

1. Of Montreal
2. Scissor Sisters
3. The Cure
4. Belle & Sebastian
5. Daft Punk
6. The Shins
7. Yo La Tengo
8. Tokyo Police Club
9. Cake
10. Billie the Vision and the Dancers
11. Andy Williams
12. David Bowie
13. Billy Joel
14. The Turtles
15. Dandy Warhols
16. Shiny Toy Guns
17. I'm from Barcelona
18. The Killers
19. Girl Talk
20. Lupe Fiasco

ABBA
The Arcade Fire
Architecture in Helsinki
Badly Drawn Boy
Band of Horses
Built to Spill
Celestial Aeon Project
The Click Five (i can't help myself, dammit)
David and the Citizens
The Doors
Echo and the Bunnymen
Editors
Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives
Hootie and the Blowfish
Islands
Kings of Convenience
Muse
Neutral Milk Hotel
The Offspring
OK Go
Okkervil River
Royksopp
Simon & Garfunkel
Stars
Tilly and the Wall
Tokyo Police Club
A Tribe Called Quest
TV on the Radio
The Unicorns

blah, yes, I did just go through my ipod and write down all the bands that I like just a little bit more than the rest - and since I have to go, I'll edit this and narrow this down in a bit. it's really hard not putting everything down!!

this should be a top 50 list. :(

Okay, I'm sure I'm probably going to get bashed in this thing. But you know I really don't care, I can see that the guy who started this forum is a tad bit crazy, but lets see how this goes. But I won't discriminate, cuz I myself am a tad bit crazy.

1. We Don't Need To Whisper - Angels & Airwaves
2. A Beauitful Lie - 30 Seconds To Mars
3. Johnny Cash
4. Nevermind - Nirvana
5. Rio - Duran Duran
6. Meteora - Linkin Park
7. The Open Door - Evanescence
8. Riot - Paramore
10. The Conquest - All Left Out
11. The Beauitful Unkown - Foreverinmotion
12. Awake - Secondhand Serenade
13. The Shade of Poison Tree's - Dashboard Confessional
14. Don't You Fake It - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
15. Angels & Devils - Fuel
16. Blink 182 - Blink 182
17. End of Silence - Red
18. Underclass Hero - Sum 41
19. The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
20. Indestructible - Disturbed

Btw has the person who originally started this topic even checked it since it died in november?

It's ok, I can be a pretentious douchebag too. And good god you're making it easy. No genre diversity, nothing outside of the mainstream, nothing that comes even close to suggesting taste, NU-METAL!!!!, Johnny Cash is not an album, and for the love of god how can you listen to Secondhand Serenade without your ears bleeding?

Urm tell me, Foreverinmotion isn't mainstream. Red isn't mainstream. Duran Duran, is a classic that I fell upon digging through my moms old cd's. All left out is a band from new zealand that I'm sure you've probably never heard before. Hmm, I realized I'd get bashed cuz everyone always thinks that just because someone likes mainstream music means that they are completely brainwashed. MOst of the time I found these groups without even turning on the radio.

That doesn't make it better music. If Duran Duran is the best thing on someone's list, that's an issue.

Haha, well whoever started this sure was making an issue by trying to force his tastes in music upon other people, but hey, I'm going to give you props for doing a pretty good job on keeping the ball going 8 months after its death. ^_~

And I'm not saying its BETTER, than anyone elses taste in music (unless you listen to Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, or High School Musical) I believe that music is whatever you make it out to be, and your music can be whatever you want it to be. (as long as you aren't Miley Cyrus.)

I would like to call for the closing of this thread so that we can (for a time) not have to deal with the irrational missuse of forum space.
