So I have a confession. I don't get a lot of work done at work. My mind is too restless, I have trouble focusing so I tend to wander off and do other things (like post on CB).

For example, earlier today, I had an epiphany and decided my next random venture would be to learn how to play the ukulele so I did some research on google.

But anyway...

So my (hot) boss/supervisor/whateveryouwannacallhim comes over to look at some stuff I've been working on and he asks me to google something real quick so I bring up my browser and begin to type into the google search bar and you know how when you search something in there, it leaves the text in the search field long after you've already searched. Yeah. So "ukulele" was still in there. He just gave me the dumbest look and made a joke about how he hopes I don't plan to ditch my job here for a stint as a ukulele musician.

Yeah, stupid story, but I'm bored.

So have you guys been busted at work for doing anything other than work?

If I get busted doing anything other than working, I'll probably get fired real quick. They take lifeguarding real serious.

i've been busted for:
- eating.
- laughing.
- talking too loud.

never texting. :]
but my boss won't fire me; she has too little employees.
and i've been there... almost forever.

but i barely ever get busted. i've been there for about three years now, its only happened three or four times.

No. We're allowed to do whatever we want really. My supervisor's really lenient, as long as we get the work done.

Brenden! Hi.

I don't have a job, so I can't be busted at work. I've never been busted for doing anything wrong at school though.

I like this topic :P even though I haven't really ever gotten in trouble, except for this one time I had a bubble fight in the back of the restaurant... otherwise, I did my work and everyone else's around me without thinking about it.

Not really.

I briefly worked for the Calling Center at my school (we call alumni and pretty much ask for money) I got this one caller who was kind of a jerk and I muttered "a-hole" after I hung up and my boss happened to be right behind me. At first, he was gonna pitch a fit, but then he saw that I had already hung up, so he was like "meh, whatever, just don't say things like that too loudly."

The job was crap anyways. You never really feel that good after a shift of telefundraising. I felt like I was working for the devil and quit after a month.

i got busted by the district at&t mananger when he came to visit my store. i wasn't in dress code... my associates told him immediately that i just got in, and was helping out customers due to heavy traffic. then he threatened to call my mananger, which he never did. he's just mad that we're a sprint powerhouse, and can't bang out any at&t phones at all.
i hate ALL the at&t supervisors, ALL TWO OF THEM those bastards.
make us like you first, then just maybe, just maybe our district will start selling your phones.

we got busted watching movies, listening to the wrong radio station, etc. but after a while our manager doesn't care, as long as we get our work done first.

I forgot to put this one lady on hold while taking her order (I just covered the phone, but not good enough i guess XD), and apparently she heard everything cause she.. also spoke chinese.. >_>; So basically, she caught me and had me give her my name and such to call the boss later. Nothing ever happened though.

Zinged!

Brenden! Hi.

I second that! *waves*

A couple of years ago I got busted spending too much time at cB (on the internet period). I was told that it was cool to browse when the work was done. The problem is, I completed things much quicker than they at first realized, so when they did bandwidth reports, I was mortified. (I'm very cautious about my time here during work hours now).

I was once accused of taking 12 smoke breaks, which was absurd. I worked on the 8th floor. For me to ride down 7 floors to the lobby, walk around the building to the smoke area 12 times would have meant that I would have never been at my desk. I had completed a monster month end report, had 2 meetings and scrubbed 5 files. Yeah, I took 12 smoke breaks. rolleyes.gif

A good read. thumbsup.gif

On Topic:

When I worked at the movie theatre I never got caught watching movies while on shift. I had a manager radio just in case people needed me. So yep on slow days just chill and watch the same movie over and over. Though since I was a manager I was the one catching employees "damaging" candy on purpose to eat, having cellphones out, wandering off to a different duty/half assing their duties. It's actually very funny watching your subordinates in the hot seat when you catch them. biggrin.gif

I wrote a story about a ukulele player in my Creative Writing class a couple weeks ago.

Anyways, I can't do much at work, seeing as I work on a farm. The worst thing I can do is oversleep and let the animals starve.

back when i was working for MyWebTeam, my boyfriend at the time came to pick me up from work and no one was in the office (I was clocking some serious overtime back then) so we decided to have some fun. We totally got walked in on by the guy that owns the building; thankfully he didn't say anything to my boss.
