So, I've been wondering. . .how many of you guys could handle having a gay best friend? Feel free to post as to why or why not that situation would work for you.


I would be totally comfortable with it myself. I already have many gay friends and they're all cool people. They understand the difference between us being friends and us being something more. If they were to develop feelings for me, they know they'd be able to say something and I'd be ok with it and we could work it out.

yeah. i have a lot of gay relatives, so i find it's not a big deal. i mean, unless the person tried anything on me. i wouldn't mind if a guy had a crush on me, thats flattering but still pretty weird, but if he tried anything, i'd be pretty freaked out.

Assumedly, if you were best friends with a person in the first place, you must have had things in common. Just because someone comes out it doesn't mean that goes away. Why should that change? What is there to handle?

yes i could because i am gay and a lot of people are best friends with me so i dont think its a hard thing to do.

I have a friend JOEY and he is totally gay i am cool with it and i tease him and stuff he is a good friend

I have one friend who is gay but most of my friends that are girls, are usually lesbians or bi. I don't know what it is but I seem to attract alot of bi girls.

One of my best female friends is Bi. I don't have a problem with it.

Nope... cuz I'm ignorant and hateful like that. Though I'll admit I do have a couple female friends that are lesbians which are married with a 12 year old boy.

They're cool people, but they take everything so personal when it comes to opinions on gays. Hell even if one of us say, "that is so GAY!" one of them... at least one of them has to say something and ruin our fun =\

Nothin happens in the locker room. It's where people change in and out of clothes. And back when I was in highschool, non of the guys took showers in the locker room, we were all strongly homophobic and we'll still be :P

I have decided that after all of this, I couldn't handle having a queen for a best friend. I mean if somebody is gay, then it is cool you know....to each his own. HOWEVA (Screaming A Voice), I couldn't handle having one of the queens around. Leave that shit at home playboy.

Of course i could handle having a gay friend. I can't see how it would alter our friendship in the slightest.

one of my former best friends is gay. we drifted apart after college since we go to colleges on the different coasts. he's an amazing guy though.

i have nothing againts gay people, but if i had a male friend that was gay i'd honestly try to keep my distance because you never know what they're going to pull..

im a girl and i always wanted a gay best friend knowing that you can do anything and they wouldnt take advantage of you. i myself have had realy bad experiances with boys using me so a gay friend would be cool cos girls can sometimes be realy bitchy! to

Whats with all the "nothing against gays, but they might fancy me!" type posts? I'm sure you guys have plenty of girls who manage to stay friends with you without being deeply madly attracted to you.

i would love a gay best friend. haha. whenever i talk to this one gay friend, he always makes me laugh because of the way he criticize people. and its awesome because we can talk about the same stuff too, like make-up and clothes. i find them awesome and super nice.. when you get to know them and they're not stuck-up.

especially when my guy friends act gay with each other, no homo though. lol. i'm pretty used to having crazy friends. a gay best friend would definitely make my friends something special, haha. but whether they're gay or not, it shouldn't affect a friendship. i've actually known this certain friend of mine when he was in denial about being gay, like in middle school. now he's fabulous.
