I'm wondering... is this really necessary? To enforce this sort of thing in the Sandbox, where posts don't even count? Most of us aren't even bashing others, we're just casually talking. I can see where blatant bashing would be something to give "consequences" to, but... seriously. Some silly chatting, in the Sandbox mind you, should result in consequence?

The sandbox doesnt mean you can spam. Otherwise, what's the point in all the topics? We could just get rid of the entire subforum and have one thread in the lounge called "Spam"

So the sandbox is fine as it is. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. Don't punish people for spamming in the sandbox.

We always did punish people for spamming in the sandbox. So I guess we aren't fixing anything. If you think we're allowing total spam and deviations from topics in the subforum, then I'm sorry that you've interpreted it that way. Meanwhile, we have jobs to do and we really don't need your permission to do so.

The sandbox is sort of like a spambox, but not exactly. (Sorry, I fully realize that sentence is retarded)

The Sandbox is essentially Forum Games, but renamed. I think Jusun came up with "Sandbox", can't remember exactly. Anyway, yeah, lots of random things happen in that forum, but it really isn't a spam forum, just the closest we have to a spam forum. The "First to Post on Page <insert random number here>" are essentially spam threads, but the forum itself isn't. I think a little conversation here and there is fine. I do it, I'll admit it. But if you're asked to veer back, it's just plain polite to do so, especially if you've been asked a few times already.

I PM a member before warning, even before a verbal warning because it is the Sandbox and things should be pretty lenient there. Sometimes it's easy to get carried away there and a simple PM can solve a lot before anything gets heated. I know we (staff members) don't have to do that, but it's a cool thing to do I think. Just sort of a "hey, I've asked a few times and you're still Captain Random. Can you PLEASE just get back to the ugliness?" - or whatever topic it is. I'm willing to bet that more often than not a poster will be cool about it.

However, after saying all that, we all have different ways of handling things and staff members can punish for spamming in that forum. I think it's just been pretty lax of late.

If the Lounge is supposed to be pretty lenient, shouldn't the sandbox be extremely lenient? Extreme leniency would have looked at that and said, who the f**k cares if this is spam?

I really wish being a mod didnt require constant stating the obvious, but it seems like people just have a hard time comprehending simple shit.

Rebecca is the best because she delivers her ideas effectively while still remaining nice about it :) She doesn't try to outwit me or hurt my feelings :(

Oh yeah, b/c she isn't a complete bitch when dealing with members, she is always patient, and she never condescends. And she doesn't complain all the time.

I would listen to Rebecca's explanation over any others, any day.
