Get back on track with the debate guys. Seriously. The name calling is childish and unacceptable.

My mom is Catholic and my dad is Buddhist. It was a little confusing as a kid, but I managed. Actually, neither of my parents are really all that religious to begin with, so I didn't grow up with a strong pull to either religion. I was forced to goto private catholic school as a kid; I think that just drove me away from Catholicism, to tell you the truth.

I mean, I believe, that it is based on what people believe and what they are taught. I will reference stereotypes of races as an example, because it is along the same lines. In some cases, people are taught about different races and the pros and cons and what not. It is up to that person to make the choice whether or not to believe what they have been taught, or to go out on their own, and learn as much as they can. Religion is the same way. I grew up in a Baptist household, and had it beat into my head constantly. As of right now, I have no religion, and that is because I choose to learn what I can about other religions first. To say that something is wrong or right without not knowing the full spectrum of it, and making a decision based solely on your own opinion, is a little bit silly to me. This probably made no sense, but I thought I would give it a shot.

My parents both came from different religious backgrounds. I don't see what the problem is...your religion does not wholly define you as a person. You can be different religions and still get along. It really all depends on the people involved.
I don't think I could be with a vehement religious-ite. I'm sure there's a word for that, but I don't know what it is. |

There's nothin wrong with learning new religions. Embracing Islam doesn't mean you convert... you just want to learn their point of view. Which is great for the mind, any sort of reading and understanding is. |
