werd man
people have to be informed before they can make such and accusation such as saying all muslim people are terrorist and i have heard college professors say this in his classes. for a person to say that, he/she has to be really ignorant. i think this topic really helps informing people that we are the opposite of terrorist.

I was married to an Arab Muslim he was a crazy a-hole! And I've been around other Muslims before and they seem to have the same mentality. Not that I'm saying they're all the same but the ones I've been around are.

I'm glad I'm not with him anymore. Now I with a Jewish guy and he treats me 10 times better than my ex.

LOL You're an effin devil... you never been with an Arab nor a Muslim... and just a heads up... if you're a non-Jew, you're considered a subhuman.

Reference? Talmud.

I was married to a Jordanian of Palestinian descent. I was 19 at the time and he was 27.

Whatever you can think what you want. I really don't care I'm just stating the facts and if can't except that then it's your problem.

By the way a lot of Arabs/Muslims find me attractive so I know what they like. Young looking girls with pale skin.

...

Your ethnicity and your religion don't determine your hormonal traits. I'm Persian with a Muslim family (although I'm atheist, myself), and I don't like anyone, much less "young looking girls with pale skin".

You're either insinuating that Muslims are collectively like that, or that you're only speaking on behalf of those you just happen to know as a coincidence and aren't intending for that to infer others' behavior at all, which wouldn't have any relevance to the topic. That'd be like me saying, "You know, I've noticed that most religious people are named Frank. I'm not trying to say that theists like the name Frank, it's just a coincidence I've noticed!" Well, what's your point, then? If that were posted in a topic called "People Named Frank", then it would probably be contributive, but in a topic about religion, it's completely random.

Why did Muhammad marry a little girl?

There is no specific reason. There's a reason why I posted the links in this thread. I am not the best person to ask specific questions in regards to Islam.

Why do Jews marry little girls?

Why did/do Catholics marry little girls?

Why did/do Christians marry little girls?

Why do Buddhist families engage their children and have them move to either the girl's or boy's home?

Why do Hindu families marry off their daughters to nearly any aged male as soon as she hits puberty?

I rest my case.

So you don't know why your great prophet married a little girl? Doesn't this bother you enough to at least have looked into it on your own, rather than trusting that the info is out there?

-.- It's old tradition... Ancient tradition, even the Ancient Egyptians married off their children. So did your ancestors, Mongolian (forgive me for assuming you're Asian if I'm wrong).

I go by MY Qur'an not "info that is out there"

And I'm Sunni.

My true goal on this thread is to get people to understand the facts of Islam/Muslim religion. That everything that is fed to you, rather it be a teacher, the media, heck even a pastor/priest sometimes isn't gonna be true.

I was in a thread where a specific member was degrading Islam, it showed me that he/she was not informed about Islam. So I wanted to quickly make a thread with nothing BUT "facts".

how are you not spooning all this information down our throats by making such a thread?

if anyone really was so interested in islamic beliefs, he or she could go google it himself/herself. so what you read isn't always true - this could be totally false too.

perhaps the situation would be different if you presented your points in an interesting, readable format, not a huge list of links that you expect us to investigate.

JUST SAYING

QUOTE(Tamacracker @ Sep 5 2006, 09:57 PM) *
Also to anyone that wants to pick up a Qur'an I recommend going to your local Mosque and pickin up a Qur'an that's translated by Abdullah Yusufali. This translation is accurate.

why would this be more accurate than the others?
some christians think that the niv version of the bible is more accurate than the kjv, and that the kjv is more accurate than the tniv, and the tniv is more accurate than "the message" version?

ABSOLUT BOGUS
Reason for edit: ADDING STUFFz

How am I spooning this down your throat? It's YOUR choice to open the thread. No where in this thread am I tellin you to accept God, religion, nor what I tell you or you'll go to hell.

If someone's curious and would like to go to those links (which is another forum board, a bodybuilding forum at that) they can see THOUSANDS of posts, hundreds of pages full of questions about Islam, Muslims, and the way of life and they're all answered properly, professionally, and with all do respect.

As for why is that the most accurate? Because people like to create fake copies of the Qur'an with scriptures in which defame Islam. Especially in Europe and in America.

Also lets not try to compare the THOUSANDS of different versions of the Bible to the ONLY 2 versions of the Qur'an, Sunni and Shia.

You're hateful and evil for your false audacious post.

i'm not saying that you're evangelizing; i'm saying that you're throwing information at people that could or could not be true - which isn't necessarily bad, but there's a huge difference between telling someone that smearing strawberry extract on your teeth makes them whiter and making a "study the truth of islam!" thread.

you might have well just admitted that you're advertising when you say they links direct you to another forum. O NOZ! but i stand by my point - if anyone desperately searches for information on islam, i'm sure they'll find it.

it's extremely naive of you to find me hateful and evil for questioning and making comments about your post.

You're posting here just to start trouble. Attempting to get this thread closed like NoSex attempted.

And if they're desperately in search of it, I provided them the links to seek questions that have already been asked and the answers to them.

My girlfriend's brother is actually taking me to a Mosque on Sunday, I'd rather have things told to me then read.

After they're told I come and read more about it.

The reason I'm a bit eh about Islam is because I think instead of studying the nature of it, I've been reading the sets of rules.

are you saying that just because you have nothing left?

if i wanted this thread closed, i could close it right now. however, i'm not - because i don't see how it's breaking any guidelines, and this isn't "drama" to me. it's merely (partially) educated discussion... granted, aggressive discussion, but it's passable to me.

That's what I did, I went to a Mosque and explained my interest in Islam to the sheikh (Islamic priest), he had me set a date with him so I could have a one on one "interview"... Any question I asked (specially about terrorism with no disrespect) he answered without using apologetics.

Have you noticed though?

a Muslim would have sex, drink alcohol, gamble, but one thing they'd never do is eat pork.

I'm learning more about Islam for the belief not a set of rules I must follow.

Unfortunately, the modern Westernized world is sort of corrupting Muslims in the Western part of the world.

I used to drink alcohol but got sick of it.. literally, I can't drink even a bottle of beer or I'll gag. Back when I was in highschool I used to "chug" 32oz. bottles (4 of them in a matter of 2 hours) of Old English beer.

I used to smoke cigarettes, but one day I didn't have the craving for them... normally when I would wake up, I would smoke my last cigarette and go straight to the store to buy another pack for the rest of the day (I used to smoke a pack a day)

So yeah... there's these fake Muslims who believe in some sort of "Neo-Islam" belief where they believe it's ok to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, fornicate before marriage etc...

I think that's a debatable topic though. Just because you believe in the teachings doesn't mean you have to follow the rules. I'm not saying make up the rules as you go along, what I'm saying is...

You're not really harming anybody by doing these. I wouldn't say the "Neo-Islam" trend is right, but I believe it's the ideas behind it you should believe in. Not the rules.

Don't know if that made sense?

The reason why alcohol is frowned upon in Islam, is because it alters your perception.

The reason why cigarettes are frowned upon in Islam, is because it's an addiction. Islam in a sense teaches; Mind over matter.

I do understand your post, I have no problem with someone who doesn't follow all the rules (we're humans), I respect those who better themselves and become better people overall, who have hope and see a better tomorrow every day.
