Have fun in Iceland when Germany is ready for round 3.

Did they invade Iceland? I don't think so. Iceland was last on Hitler's list, and it didn't really matter, as it wasn't going to provide any resources for him and it's a tiny population. He would have come to America before he'd go for Iceland.

No, Britain occupied it for them, and then America did laugh.gif And then they got whored out during the Cold War when they allowed NATO to build bases there without having to pay a cent of rent.

America PROTECTED Iceland...they weren't occupying it in an aggressive manner. That's not launching a war on Iceland or invading Iceland. That's not the same thing...

Sounds like the same way America is protecting South Korea/Japan/Italy/Germany/Saudi Arabia/etc. right?

Anyway, enjoy your mediocrity.

How is that debate pwnage? I don't want to live in an aggressive country that gloats endlessly about anything that it may or may not be superior in while ignoring its faults. I want a "mediocre" country that just sort of chills there, minding its own business. Saying that the country I want to live in is mediocre isn't insulting at all.

Yeah, sorry, definitely didn't notice the "pwnage." Not to mention, since no analytical or deductive conclusions have actually been met, any sort of declared victory would be quite presumptuous and sort of asinine. And, lastly, America is like the cornerstone of mediocrity - we're all quite average. Notice, no one wants to buy our shit? Yeah.

Which would be easily fixed if they just stopped eating. I don't understand this desire to consume food. I just don't know :( I mean I was fat once, then I just stopped eating for a while and it was a quick and easy fix.

I meant, more specifically, our shitty products. We happen to have a very serious trade deficit.

We have a trade deficit partly because of our super powerful dollar.

Or what used to be super powerful :( Now I can't call Canada's currency monopoly money.

I'm just responding to the bolded words because the dollar has already been addressed.

The explanation, not an excuse =) though, for our shitty products is competitive advantage. Why would we strive to excel over what other countries do so well, which is usually in manufacturing. We've got competitive advantage over other things that make us one of the most economically inclinced nations.

We're just making these shitty products cuz anything "Made in the USA" is almost like brand name, in my opinion. Most of our consumer goods are not for durability or reliability, but for fashion. LOL, if you want precious antiques, go to China or Egypt. You want bragging rights that your shampoo is one of the "best" and most expensive, it better be an American brand... at least this is how it is in Vietnam.

With that kind of world market response, and in respect to the economy as a whole, we're not mediocre at all.
