Depends on the type of person you are.

Girls who have only male friends, to me, are either tomboys or whores. In my experience, there's a reason why a girl has no girl friends: they're bitches and girls can't stand them.

I only know one girl that I would consider a friend and I am not a whore or a tomboy.

I'm going to assume Whitney is implying guys with lots of female friends are gay right?

Well I hang out with more females than I do with males? Why? Because I rather hang out with girls since they are girls! C'mon, I love girls, and being the whore that I am, I don't want to be around many guys because that's too much of a cockfest and that's totally homo.

Eh, it's hard to choose. But to me Boys are to me better friends. not that girls aren't. It's just that, I'm more comfortable around guys and girls. But they're all fun to hang out with.----

I'll second that. I happen to have more girl friends than guy friends, but both are needed. Both are equally likely to stab you in the back, atleast from my expericance. I'm not really a people person, and I just got burnt by a friendship, so my views are admitedly somewhat cynical.

Oh my god, are you really that closed-minded? I didn't know people that judgmental even existed. Do you know how offensive that sounds? I know plenty of guys that have mostly girl friends and they're perfectly normal, but more importantly, I know girls who have only guy friends, and they're not tomboys. OR whores. Some girls choose not to hang with girls because maybe they're harder to make friends with or maybe, they just like guys better. It's one thing to say that girls or guys make a better friend, but entirely different to make a blunt stereotype that has no truth to it.

Are you really that naive? It is in a person's nature to get along with the same sex. There is a reason, more than "I really like guys better," that a girl may have only guy friends. I hang with the straight crowd, even if you may find yourself in the gay crowd, so maybe that explains it.

Clearly there will be no reasoning with you. You sound incredibly set in your conservative ways. I'm glad you "hang with the straight crowd" because you probably wouldn't be too well liked in the "gay crowd," as we tend to believe in crazy things like "To each their own," and "No one is a stereotype." I find it's in a person's nature to get along with people who have a similar communication style, sometimes that's a by gender thing, but not usually. It certainly has nothing to do with their orientation, so I'd suggest backing off.

Well put.

I become friends with people who I can relate to, the most, regardless of their sex or sexual orientation.

Depends on how you define a 'better friend'. As far as listening to you, giving you the right advice and doing little considerate things to cheer you up, I'd say that girls are better at doing that. As far as having a good, goofy time, I'd say guys are better. Hanging out with girls/lesbians/gays always causes drama cause they're all just too emotionally charged and take everything so personally. Guys are more laid-back and are fun-ner to hang out with. But if i wanted to have a deep, emotional convo with a person, I'd pick one of my girls cause men aren't into the deep talks as much.

^LOL OMG JEFFREE LAWLZ.

I can have friends of both genders, but primarily I'll befriend a girl; I'm quite shy with strangers, and I've found girls are more likely to begin a conversation with someone.
Guys conversations don't really...have that much of a range, so I become bored with them easily. But I have to admit, I can be alot more crude with a guy than a female.
