I have intentions of traveling to Europe in the near future for an extended period of time, but the continent is huge, so I'd like everyone's opinions of European countries they've visited and where they had the most fun/what they did/etc. Because I can't see the entire continent, I'm in the process of creating a list of specific places to visit.
If you have been to multiple countries, what was your favorite place? How did you spend your time, and how much did you like it there? So far, I'm considering France, Greece, Italy, Ireland, and Spain, but if anyone has a more "exotic" place in Europe that's underrated, feel free to share. Also, I've been trying to figure out for the past thirty minutes what those rides were wherein you get into a boat-like object, and you start pedaling on the water to move yourself, so it's a pedal-motored vehicle. What are those called? |

Definitely go to France. Spain is good for shopping ;x haha. I didn't really enjoy Germany and Austria. Oh, and Italy for sure. Visit Rome and Pisa.

There's always sights to see everywhere. I'd say you should look into Ireland and Germany. Think of the Autobahn.

But that's the thing, I don't want to see sights. I already know of all of the amazing tourist attractions in each country, but this is boring to me. That's why I asked for an opinion of where they had the most fun and perhaps what they did.
I'm also not interested in the Autobahn, or Germany. At all. |

I liked Germany, but Rome and Venice are a definite. That's exactly what I was going to say! Italy is the most amazing place I've ever been to. We went to about 5 different cities in Italy, but Rome and Venice are my absolute favorites. Venice is SO picturesque. You _must_ go for a gondola ride around the canals. As for Rome... wow... I just remember going around the city at night and every single thing I saw made my jaw drop. It doesn't even matter if you're not interested in seeing the typical tourist attractions (I'm certainly not), it'll still amaze you. Plus, there are a lot of great places to shop there! :) I got beautiful boots there for only 20 euros. |

When are you planning to go to Europe?
If you're going in the summer, I suggest you go somewhere else other than Paris, unless you can stand the heat. (Which I CAN'T) In the summer, Paris is SO FREAKING HOT! All the restaurants are outdoor or have open windows so there is barely any place to escape from the heat. Other than that, there are a lot of flea markets and you can find pretty cool and unique stuff. If you have any interest to go to Belgium, you HAVE TO TRY THE CHOCOLATE. delicious. ![]() |

I'm thinking around the summer/fall. Somewhere from July to September? How's Paris around that time? Thanks for everyone's responses, though. It's nice to have a more specific target once we actually are in Europe, and not feeling lost. |

I just want to sample the world once that I'm out of this stagnation period with nothing to do. Thanks for your input. I don't think we'll visit Paris around the summer; otherwise, I might as well walk around naked. |

Ah, I so want to go to Italy. And Germany, of course. Make sure you plan ahead for weather and other tourists and prices... as far as where you're going to stay and where you're going to go and how you're going to get there.

Oh my parents gave my brother and a friend tickets for a trip to the Galapagos Islands for his graduation! He said the beaches were amazing. My boyfriend told me a little about the giant tortoises that reside there. Did your brother see any of those? Apparently, they're crazy large and can weigh up to 660lbs. There also lives lizards who walk on their hind legs. I'm obsessed with animals, so I'm hoping to get really good pictures there. |

He did see some of the tortoises on like the rocky shores, but I don't think he's seen any hind leg-walking lizards. That sounds really creepy, actually. hahaha.

It's adorable, even if they aren't the most good-looking creatures on this planet. England sounds a lot like Washington state, except we have a lot of coffee, tree-hugging, animal-loving hippies, and rain. |

I've been to a couple of places in Europe, including Belgium and France.
If you've got the money, it's hard to go wrong with Paris. |
