Pretty cookie cutter stuff if you ask me. Once again Heroes is neglected (yes, I'm totally biased). I hardly know any of the movies nominated, but it seems like it's the same names on the nomination list that I typically see in this sort of thing.

PS, I don't think that a thread for this has been made yet. If so, merge, close, etc.

^ Yeah, but then you have to ask yourself how many animated movies get released in a year.

- - -

I generally like the movie nods, but the TV ones can go somewhere. I'm surprised John C. Rielly got a best acting nomination for Walk Hard. It looks like such an eh sort of movie.

For sure. There really wasn't much in the way of animated films this year.

I haven't heard of or seen any previews or what not of Walk Hard. I do know that typically speaking, John C. Rielly is good in just about anything he does, so I'm not surprised he was nominated. Same goes for Cate Blanchett. I think it's interesting that Ryan Gosling was nominated for a comedy type film, considering he's usually a dramatic type of actor. I'm thinking that John Travolta has a good standing chance of winning.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy

John C. Reilly – Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

I adore him, he is HILARIOUS. I am so excited to see this movie it's ridiculous.

Best Animated Feature Film

The Simpsons Movie

A lot of people didn't like it, but I am a HUGE simpsons fan, and I think it was better than the other movies nominated.

Best Director - Motion Picture

Tim Burton – Sweeney Todd

Tim Burton is one of my favorite people ever. I would do nearly anything to meet him. I actually have yet to see the movie, but I have faith in him.

Best Original Score - Motion Picture

Into The Wild
Composed by Eddie Vedder, Michael Brook, Kaki King

I also haven't seen this movie, but I LOVE the book. Damn me and my biased opinions that aren't based on fact.

Best Original Song - Motion Picture

"Walk Hard" – Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
Music & Lyrics By: Jake Kasdan, John C. Reilly, Marshall Crenshaw and Judd Apatow

Have you heard this song? It's hilarious.

Yeah, I love every role I've seen John C. Reilly play. He's so underrated, it's so sad. And Travolta...meh. It was impressive the way he hopped around in that fat lady-suit, but I didn't think he was that good.
