People hate emo kids so much?

I can't understand that, why is it bad to be emo?

I don't think its the fact that they hate emo kids, they always fine amusement in making fun of them. In fact...I don't think people even know what emo is anymore. shrug.gif

Emo is a kind of music. Is it possible for people to be a kind of music? No. So they're using the word wrong in the first place.

I feel like "emo" kids can't get over themselves. They go on about how they cut themselves and how depressed they are when in fact, they probably don't cut themselves and don't need clinical help. In turn, they give a bad name to people who actually are clinically depressed.

It's just annoying.

that's because punk is a culture, too-it always has been. but kinda like "emo", too many people think they're "punk" just by the music they listen to. punk is a lot worse of a thing than most people realize. but yeah, it's culture.

it's a kind of music, not just what some people decide to call themselves & play dress up to prove. i happen to enjoy emo music a lot, not so much the so called fashion statements & persona going along with it, or at least not the overly exaggerated types. i do like myself some skinny jeans, volcom & eyeliner, but i keep it low key.. & i don't brag & lie about cutting myself so i better suit the image. i also don't dress like that all the time on purpose so that people don't call me emo.

Some people believe they can be emo. So they try to live that life because they "think" it's cool.

Dressing emo isn't a bad thing. I notice they have a certain style. But acting emo(I just call it that) is another story.

You know what I don't get? If people can be classified as punk or goth, why hasn't emo or rock been considered?

no! once again, punk has always been a culture. it was a culture before music.

and punk/"goth/gothic" is almost as bad as "emo".
they're all stupid fad stereotypes. there's not enough people with brains left in this world to realize it's all stupid bullcrap.

i know;
the more technology advances, the lazier we get, the more problems we have, the more people we want to blame stuff on, the more economic problems we have, the more societal problems we develop...
we can't even be considered a society anymore. and it's funny how we want to blame other things/people-it's our own damn faults. people do try to fix things, you know-there just happens to be more retards than brains.
it's just a vicious circle and nobody can realize it.

[edit-damn that was a major babble.]
