Has anyone ever considered creating a Stylish And Greasemonkey section? I know it's pretty big and I know I would certainly love it. JUst throwing it out.

Confirmation: Greasemonkey and Stylish are web browser add-ons where user create scripts that change parts of a websites functionality to only the viewer who has teh script. For example if you were technologically stupid and cB was too complex of a layout you could go to the extreme as to change it to all text, or you can do something as simple as hide all the avatars, groups, posts, etc.

I'm sure that if the community showed interest in these things then we would create forums for them.

Erf... I meant that if a large enough percentage of the community showed interest. I mean, if there were 6-7 people willing to post in each forum, I'm sure it would be considered.

Uh, yeah, I felt really stupid reading the first post, so I had to read it again. Psssh.

I think if enough people show interest in this it could be done. I've been places that do this already and it's kinda nice.

You mean a section for help topics, or a section for submissions?
I'm still a bit confused.
I've heard of Greasemonkey though, but not Stylish.

^lol we have the same question and we posted at the same time. xD

When you say section, you're talking about forum sections, right?

I know at least Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that a LOT of people use, and I'm sure lots of people would like to discuss it. However, I can see conversation extending out to maybe three or four topics, all of which would go great in a place like the Designer's Cafe. If you disagree, it's very possible that I'm looking at this from the wrong angle so I'm more than willing to hear what you think if you truly feel like these topics could encompass an entire forum or subforum.

Anyway, what do you think about just making a topic in the Designer's Cafe for people who want to discuss it, or even for people who haven't tried it yet to learn more about it? Perhaps if discussion goes really well there, we might consider branching it out if we see that the discussion really could fill up that many topics.

Well there are other sites, like it's parent site that has all the information already on it, I think it would be kinda bad to steal their traffic from them.

Well similar to any other resource on here, there are sites which offer the same things. MySpace even has a profile generator. The reason we could do this is for the main reasoning that more people can get involved and more codes would be produced, and there are a lot of creative people on cB. As for stealing their thunder, I wouldn't say that, there are plenty of sites like deviantart that allow scripting posts.

I think the thought of posting a topic in designers cafe would be phenominal. Although I would think it would progress better feedback if it was stickied for a little. _smile.gif But yes, A wonderful idea!

Since it was your idea, I don't see why you shouldn't get to make the topic. Go ahead and make it if you'd like. _smile.gif
