Really? Well I was more of a CBC person from Aug-Septemberish. And I didn't browse the forums and participate in the community as I do now. Didn't keep up with the drama.

This is embarrassing. Talk about improving this community is old and, unfortunately, rather futile. And, really, the nexus of the problem is the population itself - our members. We have idiotic, uninteresting, young, naive, and masturbatory members. If we want to see this community evolve and progress (f**k, even just change) we need to encourage a new sort of membership - a more intelligent, capable, and interesting membership (probably older too). But, since this conversation has reduced itself to "lame insults vs. hyphy insults" (in probably the most hypocritical manner imaginable - from Josh's tongue), I'm rather confident in saying there is little hope for this corner of the internet.

Lol, my fingers Nate, not my tongue. You are the extreme opposite of what I'm talking about. Nate, all I'm saying is that I think we have moved to far in one direction. It takes practice to reach a median.

Bro, we know this place sucks - clever insults aren't going to make it any better, no matter how clever they f**king are (not to say a clever insult doesn't provide a grin from time to time, sure, it does). What we really need is revolution - we need to start throwing some Molotov cocktails. If you want my honest appraisal: Debate is seeing a bit of improvement (thanks to Podo, despite his complete incompetence). Clubs have power - in exclusivity (Film snobs and Unholy Trinities). Clubs still have power - even with exclusivity (House and Heroes). Drive-by posting is poison (Rate your day lolz!). And, our lockers are stupid (penis, vagina, penis, vagina, sex). We need to promote more intelligent, personal, and mature conversation on a larger variety of topics - why is the News section such a poverty stricken board?

It's been happening for a while, even when I was still around back last year. There's really no way of fixing it... whistling.gif

SRSLY. Well, there are those kind of people who have like. a 7-second attention span. Worse are the members who only read the topic title. I've seen posts that don't even correspond with the actual TC's post.

Apparently. It's really unfortunate.
What if we started to give rewards, in some sort of manner, to those who meaningfully contribute to the health of the boards? Something beyond popularity contests? What if someone was able to revive the News boards merely by posting and discussing at least four articles a week or so? I mean, it isn't that hard to brainstorm ways of improvement, it blows my mind this stuff hasn't already happened backstage (unless it has? When I was back there, I didn't see it).
