QUOTE(brooklyneast05 @ Oct 29 2007, 09:05 AM) *
i think the design staff is doing a bad job of approving layouts. i don't understand why anyone jocking angie or fainaru's layouts should get by. these two people have probably the most distinct and recognizable styles out of everyone who submits. these jockers aren't even clever about it, they copy the same damn text and instructions. numerous people call them out as jockers within 10 minutes of their layout being accepted, so it seems like a design staff member should be familiar enough with two of the most popular layout designers styles to notice an obvious jock.

Forseriously. hammer.gif

Unless I've accepted a jocked one, which makes me a hypocrite again. But as far as I know, I'm usually able to distinguish them. Easily.

exactly. if things slip by occasionally i understand that. it just seems to have happened a lot lately with ones that are very obvious jocks. like i said, angie and fainaru have very distinguishable styles. it's usually obvious just at a glance without even comparing the codes.

if it continues i'll pay more attention to who is letting them slip by so i can be more specific.

Ah, but jocking is completely different from imitating a style, whether conciously or subconciously. So let's clarify "jocked" and say... jocked codes or templates.

So yes, if you see it, please let us know. We try to keep an eye out for it as a rule of thumb, and there is at least one (usually more like 10) that are jocked/generated that's rejected everyday.

both. but codes is the main concern, style is the indicator.
when u see something that is someone's exact style, i think that's a good reason to take a look at the code.

like with the angie example. it was her code, her style, and even her text/instructions in the exact format that she puts in every layout.

^ Agreed.

Do you know the link to that layout? I'd like to take care of that problem?

it's already been taken care of, because it was called out immediately as jocked, by angie and others.

i was just making the statement that it seems to be happening more frequently lately.

Well if you have the link to the layout then we can still view the layout.

Mark, honestly for someone that doesn't really go in the admin cp that much I wouldn't be talking so hypocritically. You have the lowest numbers out of everyone on design staff and head staff. We already had to tell you to step it up, Mike and I at least.

Please please give us links to the layout that are in question. A lot of times people actually use the tutorials on here and they actually come out looking the same way as someone else's coding. We already had this problem arise.

Mark i just rejected one you accepted that used my exact coding from my Toxic Layout. it was obvious my credit link was still on it.

But a agree with holly on this one mellow.gif

shrugs, we can just drop it then i suppose.
i don't have links to them.

i wasn't questioning one of the layouts really. i don't think there was any question to the fact that they were jocked, that's why they aren't there now. they looked exactly like angie's layouts, and angie herself said it was her code on the comments. so it's not in question

i was just stating it seemed like it was happening more recently. and then two out of 3? design staff seemed to agree, so i thought it wasn't just me noticing that quite a few have been slipping by. if it was just a slip and a few got by that day, that's cool

Well thanks for bringing it up _smile.gif I have to say on my part I don't look at the layout comments unless the layout really stands out and I want to comment it myself. Other than that I don't bother with them shrug.gif So its always better to shoot us a PM _smile.gif

Thanks Jc

Dear krNbabie,

You have been verbally warned for member bashing/posting a picture without a user's consent.[/b] Please make sure you adhere to the community guidelines and that this does not happen again. In the case that these actions are repeated, it will result in a raised warning level.

Thank you,

Design Staff.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Rachael. If you are going to verbally warn me, make it a legit reason. Tell me where I posted someone's picture without their consent? Do you mean Elba? ROFL. Get your facts straight before you warn me. Wow, Steven was right on this one. You are a very bad mod. f**k outta here.

^x2 I copy/pasted the verbal warning official verbal warning form that I had written to Elba for the same thread. Haha, and I forgot to remove the "picture" part blush.gif. I warned all three of you at the same time and it somehow ended up in the wrong message screen. Either way you've been verbally warned -that's the point.

Honest mistake _smile.gif
Oh and Mona, linkage to the topic was given.

So Rachael. The only time you manage to be active and actually do something useful around the community, and you make the stupidest mistake. It's call lazy imo. If you actually typed up an original message to me, I wouldn't have a problem with that. But the fact that you were so careless to just copy and paste the same shit to Elba, and me, is shitty mod performance imo. And I still don't think anyone in the Pretty Colors thread should even be verbally warned or warned at all. No matter how harsh tripvertigo and Elba were being, I didn't see any member bashing on me. And vice versa. Did I bash them? No. I've seen so much more bashing, and they don't even get called for at it. If you are going to nit pick, I would like to see you make a more consistent effort in doing so. Instead of choosing your days to "mod". And i'm not speaking of closing topics.

I've been active for a long time now...blink.gif

It is standard mod procedure to Copy and Paste the official verbal warning form. It's a human mistake - if that's what you are going to pick me apart on, then go right ahead, I mean, I can't say any more than that.

When personal attacks are made, it is an infringement on the Community Guidelines. And there were in this topic:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...89334&st=25
Just adhere to the Community Guidelines, and there won't be a reason to warn you in the first place.

...and I didn't raise your warn level, so why are you making a big deal out of it? I showed mercy even though there was repeated bashing.

Why is it shitty performance if she copied and pasted the same message and just modified it a little if she's warning 3 people at the same time? Big deal.

Rachael, I don't use the "official warning form". :P

^ Well there was a quoted form we were "supposed" to use in the bottom one of the pinned threads backstage before cB was deleted.... so I used it. Figured it was good to be as "legal" as possible.

No, it's fine. I know it was suggested in the old thread. I just think it's too generic so I don't use it. :P
