Well I don't want to be the rain on everyones parade for being happy for the new staff and promotion.

But I really have to ask, why was Sammi moved up all the way to admin. I just don't see it fair to the current head staff because thats their promotion. I would have seen it better if you need a third admin to promote a head staff that you thought was good and then move Sammi to head staff if she wanted to be back on staff..since I mean when she left staff she was on head staff not a admin...so I just think she would need like practice again before getting full control as a admin..

Maybe its just me but I'm sure some people feel the same way.

Sammi's been here wayyyy longer than all the other admins &&&&& heads. (if memory serves me correctly)

that's probably a major factor if i had to guess.

Totally fair of you (Holly) to ask.

Sammi has been around for a very long time and has been an active and devoted presence. Besides her dedication, she's shown that she is able to communicate calmly and rationally. It was one of those decisions that felt right. With her rich history, her current activity and contribution she is exactly what every administrator should be in that respect. On top of all that, she can design and code. Something I know I am terribly lacking. Although she was a mentor, she was Head Staff for a very long time and that was something also considered. I know that this is a bit outside the norm or typical, but I hope that you all can accept this. She is an absolute asset and will no doubt be a wonderful administrator here.

Didn't she step down from staff because she thought she sucked or people were so negative about her activity and how she was doing at her voluntary job so she stepped down.. o_O or inactivity?

also shes was extremely inactive mentor a while back or well not to long ago and she was like all for stepping down if someone told her to do so because she didn't care or something along those lines...

i'll try looking for the post

Oh yea the whole being here for a while I don't think she play a big role.

For instance KARA. Shes been around here and on staff longer than some of the head staff and admins..and shes never even had one promotion >_> talk about unfair.

I don't think you have the liberty of posting Sammi's personal reasons in public. As for Kara, I wouldn't say I know head on, but she seems pretty content on where she is. If she did, I'm sure she'd be bound to say something. Maybe, though, the admins think Kara is fine where she's at and qualified for her position.

Uh i editted.

Sammi's personal reasons? For what stepping down the first time around, if she didn't want people to know then she wouldn't have said it in the first place.

Oh this is the post that irked Sammi enough to step down..

QUOTE(mona lisa @ Jul 31 2006, 3:29 PM) *
Kiera and I have both discussed each mods' activities. That's why more people have been stepping down as of late. We ask him/her to step down. Sammi has activity issues and Kiera has already PMed her. She actively participates in major discussions which is why we decided to give her another chance. Of course, we're both keeping an eye on her for any improvements.

or was it just a coincidence she stepped down closely after

oh and this one:
QUOTE(azarel)
As head staff, Sammi isn't as active as she should be. Wanna argue that, "she has a job"? So what? So does Dani, and Dani is on cB plenty. "She went to NY"? She's been back since I've been back and I have yet to see her really do anything other than MotM, SMotM. Also, there's a huge difference between actively posting and actively modding. I remember when it was revealed a (long) while ago that somebody would be promoted, Sammi went on a brash string of spamming/closing without reasons. So that was in the past. What about now? In her past couple of pages of posts, she hasn't posted any mod actions. I know that some mods perform them without posting, but I'm willing to bet that she just hasn't performed moderating actions lately. Take this thread for example. Kathleen posted duplicate threads, Sammi skipped right over it, and Rebecca had to close it. Also, I may have never really liked her, but there are plenty of people who liked her before that don't like her anymore. Why? Simply because as her member title grows higher, she seems to become bitchier. I know I don't have specific examples of this, but really now. It's pretty much accepted that she is, and I quothe, the "Worst. Mod. Ever."

How about others support, whats all the others staff or at least what does the Head staff really think about it? I mean I would be a little offended if I was on head staff for a while and like someone that hasn't been on staff just comes out and gets a really big promotion like that.

she was a mentor for a while, for heaven's sake!

Isn't a mentor for like retired mods?

QUOTE
Mentor:Mentors do not have any moderating powers, but they do have access to the backstage forum where createBlog staff share ideas. This is an exclusive member group, because only ex-admins and ex-head staff can be mentors. A mentor's role is to offer advice, counseling, and share their past experiences as a mod in a effort to bring positive things to cB.
