I don't see anything wrong with it, especially filtered. I mean sure it's not "good" for your lungs, but filtered pot isn't that bad at all. There are medicinal benefits from it too, outside of feeling happy and laughy.

haha I wrote a paper on why weed should be legalized. well, studies have "linked" heavy weed smoking to cancer, but I don't think it's a big deal unless you spend all day smoking everyday.
but it impairs your judgement, so when you're high you might get yourself in dangerous situations. and you "get boring" but if you smoke with friends it's actually fun haha. personally, I don't smoke just because it's not worth the trouble that could come with it |

^ word.
but they'll never legalize it. if they do, there will be idiots who abuse it or get into accidents or kill people and blame it on the weed. ![]() ![]() |

There are idiots who abuse alcohol and drive under it's influence yet that's legalized. If they legalized it at least they could regulate it and tax it -.-

Ugh. I know. but alcohol is more acceptable- America would never vote for banning booze. but weed is a drug, and drugs have a bad rep.
but uh, how can you regulate and tax weed? you can grow it in your yard! it's like placing a tax on roses... |

^ But alcohol is a drug.
People say weed isn't addicting, but I disagree. It may not be physically addicting, but it's mentally addicting. So is anything that gives you a good feeling...You can't enough of it, and you want more. What's bad about it? I guess it's because you're in an altered state of mind.. |

Oh... well still, weed has a bad rep.
I agree, it's mentally addicting which is another reason whyyy they'll never legalize it. But they should make alcohol illegal. that is physically addicting, according to my science book. ![]() |

i'm not necessarily for or against it
but i do think ur in an altered state of mind, u can't make responsible choices, things like driving are out of the question, ur a hazard to urself and everyone on the road. and yea i agree that alcohol is just as bad with that, but why do we need another legal thing that puts u in a messed up state of mind? also, are they gonna put an age limit on it? |

why not have "another legal thing that puts u in a messed up state of mind?" we have alcohol. doubt it'll make a big difference, especially if they place an age limit like 21...
but asdf what's so bad about it?! i have friends that get high at home with other friends. they have yet to make stupid decisions like driving when high... i guess it depends on the person. move to canada if you want to be able to smoke it legally ![]() |

Alcohol is a drug too. Alcohol inhibits your reactions. I've driven while high, and while it might not have been the smartest thing I've done, I've been perfectly fine every time. The more you smoke, the more inhibited you are, but that's the same with drinking alcohol. Easy enough. They regulate and tax alcohol and cigarettes, why not weed? ^ But alcohol is a drug. People say weed isn't addicting, but I disagree. It may not be physically addicting, but it's mentally addicting. But they should make alcohol illegal. that is physically addicting, according to my science book. ![]() Weed indeed does have a bad reputation. I smoke weed here and there and I have never once had a craving for it or planned on it for more than a couple hours in advance. i'm not necessarily for or against it but i do think ur in an altered state of mind, u can't make responsible choices, things like driving are out of the question, ur a hazard to urself and everyone on the road. and yea i agree that alcohol is just as bad with that, but why do we need another legal thing that puts u in a messed up state of mind? also, are they gonna put an age limit on it? An age limit would be appropriate. It's not like people are going to stop smoking it if it's not legalized. If they legalized it they would have a good deal of control over it and would be able to profit from its sales. |

how much control would they have? I guess you could require a license to sell and sell at stores yadyaya in my essay I had suggested specific stores that have to be like 100 yards away from schools or religious buildings...
anyways, I got no problems against weed, I'm just trying to be realistic about it. exerpt from my essay! (it's short, wrote it the night before it was due) " . Too much federal and state money is spent fighting the selling of marijuana when it could be spend against more serious and harmful drugs like cocaine and heroin. Yes, marijuana can slow your reactions and alter your state of mind while you’re high, but aside from the high time, it has no long term effects. Many studies “link” marijuana to cancer because of certain cancer-causing chemicals found in it, however, there are many vegetables that contain far more of those chemicals. Unlike cigarettes, marijuana has no addicting chemicals and has yet to be proven to cause cancer. Sure, pot may increase your chance of getting cancer, but only if used heavily and frequently. Virtually no one smokes marijuana for it to lead to any kind of problem. The only way it can affect your health is if paired with cigarettes or hard alcohol. When many people hear the words marijuana and legalized in the same sentence, they often imagine everyone turning into potheads, and the law being completely liberal, but that’s not the case here. If marijuana were to be legal, only licensed vendors would be allowed to sell, and buyers must be 21 or older and able provide ample identification. Store owners would have the right to refuse to sell to anyone if they are suspicious about the authenticity of the I.D. provided. These stores wouldn’t be within a 500 foot radius of any schools or religious buildings. Buyers could purchase up to 1 ounce every day, but not more, and a tax would be placed on it. " |

They could impose restrictions that are a combination of the laws regarding both cigarettes/cigars and alcohol.

I think it's just the same as alcohol. We dont really have a problem with this here because i live in Holland. Not that we're all junks or whatever xD
You don't get addicted to it fast, in my opinion. The effect when you smoke weed is not really different then from alcohol, just more.. calm, when you get really bouncy from alcohol :P |

^Yar, cept I get kinda silly when I'm high. Being high is also a very mental thing, outside of the drug itself. You perceive people high acting stupid, so you assume that's what it does to you. Then you act that way regardless if the drug is doing it to you or not, simply because that's what you think you should be doing.

just to put my two cents in,
in the past two months or so, the BBC has brought to light quite a few cases in the UK where the amount of harm there is towards "chronic" weed users. for example, a woman in the UK was diagnosed with emphysema at the age of 37. it is believed that weed is the cause of it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6551327.stm here's another interesting article about weed and murders linked to it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6484653.stm |

You know, the fact that weed is illegal in a lot of countries just gives the opposite effect.. more people WANT to use it. That's when you get the problems, i think.

Yeah but there are equal studies with evidence proving the opposite. Regarding the murderer, that's not because of weed, it's because that person is a bad person and they used weed as an excuse to do what t hey desired.

QUOTE Double murder The grim warning of Reefer Madness appeared to be played out for real this week with the jailing of teenager Thomas Palmer, who stabbed his two friends to death after a history of heavy cannabis use. During his trial, a doctor who had been treating Palmer since his arrest told the jury: "I believe that his state of mind at the time of the killings was not normal. "This was exacerbated, but not caused, by cannabis." - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6484653.stm exacerbated means to make worse or irritate. SO NOT CAUSED BY WEED! it's not that bad! asdf!! |

Weed is bad for you, no doubt. But so is too much TV, food, and deodorant. While marijuana smoke is 5x as bad as cigarette smoke, it is not physically addictive.

Medical and Regular Babbage Crap = two different things. let's not try to categorize. alcohol and weed in the same class. There has not been one death by smoking maryjane. and it's actually better for you then cigarettes are.
I don't smoke it but I am just saying. |
