Sometimes as I'm going through the day I will go temporarily blind, then I'll see spots, and then my eyesight will come back. I know that it's normal when going from darker light to more light that the eyes will go through that period, but it happens so much that I've been given the eyebrow when I explain it.
I don't know how many times it happens a day, but it happens often. There is one time where it lasted a whole of 5 mins (or more). I was in the shower and I went blind, I stumbled out, soapy and scared (I was home alone) and tried to find my way to the garage, but even with my arms out I hit a wall face first. It would have been funny, but I was terrified. Once I found the family room the fuzzy spots started, and I was able to grab a water, chug it down, lay on the ground and tremble under a towel until my eyesight came back. That happened two years ago, but when I googled it I didn't get much feedback. Has this ever happened to anyone else? |

Sometimes that has happened to me. I've fainted twice before, and that's what happened to me right before it happened both times, then it got bad and I just blacked out. I think I was dehydrated.
Also, sometimes it'll happen to me when I'm like laying down or something, and then suddenly get up, but then it gets better quickly. |

If you couldn't see for that long, you should definitely see an optometrist. What if it happened while you are driving?
When I lose my vision, it's when I'm very weak and extremely hungry that all goes black for several seconds. I have to stay still and close my eyes before my vision comes back. I've never experienced what you've described though. |

If you couldn't see for that long, you should definitely see an optometrist. What if it happened while you are driving? That's true. I tell my parents about my eyesight issues but they've never really taken me anywhere to get it looked at, they are busy and probably just forgot. I'll have to be more firm so I don't kill myself. lol |

Exactly what your topic reads, that's what my little cousin told her parents. She ended up getting contacts... so yeah it's really important you see an optometrist, I believe after a while you'll start to get eye strains, which then causes horrible migraines.

That happens to me a lot. Its usually because I'm dehydrated or because I start to get a migraine. Maybe you need to get checked up for glasses. Its usually the cause of headaches.

Sounds like you're starting to black out. I did the same thing, and we went to the doctor and it was because I'm anemic and have low iron and really low blood pressure. Maybe you should have some tests done?

That's happened to me before. I was really dizzy but my mind wasn't really aware of it and I got into the shower and the water seemed to get hotter than it actually was, and I slowly started to black out. I couldn't see for a couple minutes until I got out of the heat. Yeah, it's scary.
It sounds like you could be dehydrated, though. Try drinking more water. :) |

happened before i passed out once too. i had a heavy flow so i probably lost too much blood. sudden movements such as standing up suddenly isn't good cause blood doesn't have time to get to your head in time; definitely go check it out with a doctor

So I went to the doctor today and he checked my blood pressure and said it was low. He asked me what I eat and I told him pasta and fish (really, more like ramen and tuna sandwiches) and he frowned and said I probably haven't been getting the red meat that I need in my diet.
He said that because my blood pressure is so low, that I'm probably almost about to pass out all the time (and also probably why I don't have alot of energy). But he still wants to run some blood tests. ::nods:: Try drinking more water. :) I drink about 3-5 pints of water a day :D. |

Wow, thats pretty scary. Especially if you all by youself. I think you should go see an optometrist. He might know how to help/fix it.
