^ mine IS on private. it doesn't affect the the IP identities. they are still public.

You're welcome. I do hate the ads but I have had that one with the v1 tracker from here for over 6 months now and it has never gone out on me so I am happy. It also lets you tracker who looks at your pictures which is pretty cool. I just hope they get the bugs worked out of v2 I really like the tracker.

Ack, I just looked further into it and ICK! I don't care so much for myself, since it's fairly easy to track one's IP, but you guys really should have a choice in the matter.

at first glance, it really is no big deal. i mean we all have trackers to find out who visits our sites anyway, right? but that's fine when the identity is kept between the site owner and the visitor. the visitor acknowledges that the site owner knows who s/he is, and at the same time, the owner puts into consideration the privacy of the visitor.

the identity feature on this tracker enables everyone to see the IPs of the visitors. what happened to the user's privacy?

The tracker works pretty reliably now for me. I just put the old V1 code in and it tracks fine. I really like the identify feature! Thanks Micron!

you're right about the IPs being anonymous until someone identifies them. so i guess i'll just have to not identify the IPs i want protected. i just hope someone asks me permission before they decide to identify me, too. ;o

and even if they don't, i guess it'll be a round of musical IPs...what with all the reidentifying ;o.

Uh... I think it's a better idea to identify the myspace profile or the blogger than to have someone's IP exposed. Someone like me might be an a-hole and actually do heavy damage to someone I don't like if I ever got their IP address. Especially if they're a Windows user.

I'm just givin my honest opinion. It's safer to expose the profile that's viewing your site than someone's personal IP.

Also I want to add that with Google you can find someone's address through their IP address as well as the coordinates of the exact building it's coming from on the map.

i only get a blank white screen when i try to access my tracker. i read that if you change the code, it will no longer work, i changed it not knowing. i want to delete my account and start over, will this erase all my old history allowing me to start fresh making the tracker work again,or am i screwed now? secondly, this my sound pretty dumb, but i cant fiqure out how to delete my memebership and give this a try. does anyone know how to delete the account?? i went to account settings and nothing comes up. any help with these issues would be very appreciated. thanks-don

I did the very same thing and have been scouring these forums to find out how to fix it. Can anyone tell us how to get trackers working again if we 'updated' them when we weren't supposed to?

Same thing here. I am getting no stats at all even though Myspace says my site is getting hits, and when I try to create a new tracker or "get tracker code", all i get is a blank screen.

I haven't changed my code or edited my myspace. My tracker's bar chart shows that I have tracked for July, but the history only shows information for June.

I will continue to look for a thread that can help me, but if someone could show me how I can access my July history before then, that would be great.

Ok, so I read through the entire thread Tracker v2! and did get more information. I have not edited my mypace as I said, so I'll just sit tight and wait it out. Thank you, Micron, for mentioning right at the beginning, to NOT mess with the current code. Looking forward to the fix. Thank you.

it does not evne know how my visitors i have had now.
everything is at zero, and i know im getting visitors cause my page views are going up.
