Yes. That is so wrong... in our country. ü

I respect any country who views children even thinkin of having sex as a bad thing. Just with your post alone, I can tell your country is very rich in morality.

It's shit like this (that children think about such as sex and drugs) that makes me sick to my stomach and only fuels my ambition to leave the United States.

Leave the united states...where they marry their children off illigaly at agaes like 5? Or, before they are born? So that once they hit their periods they can have children? Sometimes with 50 year old men?

Mmn yes, I can so see how America would seem like the most terrible place in this situation.

...

No really, stfu, I'm tired of Americans getting pissed at there country when it's less the country and more the children. Look at the poll man, not everybody agrees.

Trust me I'd rather live in Iceland than the U.S.
I'd rather live in Dominican Republic where half the island of D.R. doesn't even have electricity. But guess what? At least my children won't look forward to having sex at the age of when I was playing with G.I. Joes, nor poppin pills, nor smokin drugs, nor cursing as if they were adults.

Let me ask you, name me a country... any country in the world other than the U.S. where children have parties (children 10-14 years old) and dip their hands in a big punch bowl filled with pills and they eat them like they were skittles.

When you can name me that country... maybe I'll feel better and not feel so ashamed of Americans and their parenting.

I don't know how you feel about your origins nor how you feel about America, but I can care less... let me know how life goes when you have kids. I'll be lookin forward to a laugh.

My point was that America isn't the worst, but it's not the best. Please don't misunderstand.

And I resent that you would like to laugh at my unborn children. For someone who seems to care so much about youth you have an interesting way of showing it.

Now a days kids are being influenced through radio and tv. Watch a cartoon on cartoon network, and I bet you you'll see a cartoon of these little kids wearing some skanky adult like clothes and acting flirtatious and perverted. That is one of the sources of where our kids get their minds washed and programmed.

And listen to some music, the stuff that's on the radio, specifically hip pop (rap), what do they talk about? Sex, drugs, guns, and money. Even Eminem couldn't have said it any better (and I dislike Eminem) that children are being influenced through music. If you haven't taken psychology, I advise you to, you'll get an understanding.

So I'd rather live in a financially poor country, but is rich in morality, honor, and respect. I can go without TV... heck I can go without a PC and internet. As long as I have fresh water, vegetation, and fish I'll be satisfied. And speaking of that dream, I might be moving to Kauai, 30 miles away from civilization... or the city life I should say :D

And about the whole laughing part, I didn't mean to disrespect you. Basically speaking, I dislike people who pretend to know it all (not that I'm sayin you're like this) about parenting and have everything under control and have nothing to worry about.

When right outside of their front door of their house, there's kids in the backyard touching each other's privates, there's kids down the street smoking a cig or even worst smoking a drug. There's kids who are planning to stab their parents or kids or their teacher. And there's kids right now who are watching a porn video on the internet.

I'm sick of people blaming it all on music. There are kids who have sex because they want to. I was that kid.
I'm also sick of people saying 'If they're mentally mature' (I was one of them). It's wrong, at fourteen? What do you know about sex? You're still a kid, you're still fragile, very fragile. It doesn't matter how phyiscally / mentally mature you are, you're still a baby.

Then again, in the world we live in, what is wrong?

You mean like when bugs bunny dresses up like a lady to trick Elmer Fudd? I'm not one of those people that blames anything else but bad parenting for bad parenting. Just turn off the TV, just not buy them a tv if you want to blame it on that. If they see it on another kid's tv then I guess that kid just prepared them fro the real world, where stuff happens and it's there choice as to what to do with that information.

I'm not a fan of saying kids are stupid sponges without a notion of right and wrong. If a kid is old enough to comprehend what's going on in a television show, he/she should be able to decipher whether they agree with it or not. Moral comes at an early age.

When I was a kid, I listened to alot of Barry White, thanks to my parents. But I've never wanted to rub up a lady.

You don't have to live in a poor country to do all that. Strong willed people give up all that all the time. But if you really fear for your children that much, I suppose giving up the chance of a better education works too.

Alright, the touching privates thing? That's a kid thing. It has absolutely no affect on what culture you go to, young children will always be curious and act out what they see mommies, daddies, cousins and uncles do. Some of these poor kids live in a one room house with mommy and daddy, who have 8 kids. They have at least heard a little action.

In most poor countries most people smoke or are addicted to something,a nd that all the way includes children. I could rant about the children who work in coal mines who smoke crack leaves that cost as much as a pack of gum at the nearest store before they go to work to give them courage, but instead I'll just say I think your idealizing alot of poor countries.

And that kid that's watching porn? Where are HIS parents? Where are the parent locks? Bad parenting sir. The world has always, ALWAYS been a scary place. That's what parents of all animals are for, protection.

I'm sorry, I'm done with this small little debate. I either have sight beyond sight, or I see the bigger picture in psychological evolution in the mind of a child. Either one, you can pick or just both.

If nothing influences a child, culture wouldn't exist, a society wouldn't exist... I can't believe you guys are willing to make yourselves look... ignorant to try and debate this. Take a course in psychology and sociology. Then come back for a more depth debate.

Anyways, good luck with your kids. I know I'll be satisfied with my parenting :D

lol I'm just sayin, you're making excuses to justify wrong things. For example, children who are curious touch privates of other children? Uhm... not me nor any of my little cousins have done such a thing. I'm speaking of children who have a decision to make, not a little 3 year old who's bathing with his little brother or sister.

But anyways, I'm not tryin to act like I know it all... I was just brought up differently, very old fashioned with an Italian and Dominican culture. So forgive me for being a typical dick :D

yeah. i think that at such an early age, sex will just be viewed as only for pleasure or getting what you want... when it is a much deeper kind of thing shared between two people. plus there are those pregnancy-STD problems.

LOL A friend of mine, his little brother who at the time was only 10 years old. HE bragged about sleeping with his little girlfriend! But she was 12. And my friend sat there and cheered him on and congratulated him for having sex before highschool. pinch.gif

Yes. It's very wrong. It's very stupid. I don't care how mature you are. Be more mature and get married first.

So true. Sex outside of marriage is wrong no matter how old or "mature" you are. If the person who wants to have sex with you really loves you they'll wait. If not, then they never really loved you.

I have a question. Can someone define "wrong?" Because what's "wrong" to someone may not be "wrong" to somebody else.

For example, having sex at the age of 14 is not "wrong" to me. To me, sex doesn't really matter. It's not a huge deal...When it happens, it happens, whether or not it's at age 14.

Okay, if a 14 year old has sex, it's not making love. It's a young teen trying to act like a "grown-up" which gives sex a whole different purpose.

And also, there's a chance that you'll get pregnant. I'm 100% sure that a 14 year old girl can not take care of a baby. And I'm also 100% sure that the guy you had sex with will run away and never talk to you again because he's not mature enough to accept the responsibilities of taking care of a child.

People need to enjoy this thing called childhood and stop trying to grow up so fast. ermm.gif

would one even know how to do it?

personally i think its kinda immature for a 14 year old to think that they understand the consequences and think that nothing will happen to them. i also think its kinda gross, its almost like child rape cause when you're 14, you havent even fully developed yet, physically and mentally. and you might think you're SOO IN LOVE with your boyfriend but 90% of the time, you will break up. dont think "oh, but me and my boyfriend have been going out for more than a year! so that means that i truly love him!" no, it means crap and rarely have i heard of middle schoolers staying together for more than 2 years because once you get into highschool, there are a lot more hot people.
