It's rachAel, not rachEl gosh dang it!
But it really doesn't bother me much, except when it's hard to tell if the person is replying to Rachel [is love] or me. |

Usually my last name, since it's difficult to pronounce if you're not Asian/Chinese. Also on the roll call sheets, they're really skinny, and so the names are cut off sometimes and I am often called 'Michael' by substitute teachers.

Um my first name is pretty common so it isn't mispelled a lot; my last name on the other hand is Dutch. It's always mispelled and mispronounced. I'm pretty much used to it where I don't even bother correcting them. In one of my classes my teacher started to pronounce it and was like never mind we'll just use your first name. ha.

No no not Britney, Brittany you freakin pop culture freaks.
There are other spellings, and most people are oblivious to the fact that my name has 3 syllables, not 2!! Say it with me, Brit-tuh-knee Brit-tuh-knee Brit-tuh-knee I'm a country for God's sake. |

I have an english name now, but I didn't always. When I first came to the States, I went by my french name.
People would pronounce Genevieve like "Jen a veeve" like the dog from Madeline, but it's actually pronounced "Jen a vee ehv" And before that, when I just had a vietnamese name (Y Nhi), people in france wouldnt be able to pronounce it either. They'd say "Wie nee" and it always sounded like "whiney". |

No, since Alysa is a relatively straight-forward name. My middle name, Aiko, gets them sometimes though... |

Wow, that would mess me up too. I know someone named Deirdre, pronounced Dee-Dree. Haha..I almost thought you were her.. it doesnt bother me as much as it used to i never knew there were actually people named Dee-dree, so to me it just sounded sooo stupid, like "who even has that name anyway?" but now that i know that people do, it's not as bothersome but really, there are like 20 million different ways to say my name: Dee-Dra (which is how you say it, ive already established that) Day-Dree Dee-Dree Day-Drey Deer-Dra Deer-Drey Yup. I've gotton them all too. I have this one teacher that likes to say Deet-tra. I'm like..."Do you see a T anywhere in that name??!? no." haha. But there's a girl at my school who really does spell it Deedra...lucky, probably NO ONE has mispronounced her name. Unless there's something wrong with them |
