I am a huge fan of local bands! I love them! They are probably my favorite bands!If you have any local bands you really enjoy, please post their MySpace, or Pure Volume please. I would enjoy hearing them. Here are a few of my personal favorite local bands!

Daphne Loves Derby is probably the biggest one from around here, other than Death Cab Loves Cutie...
I also like Elite Stranger. they were SO good live. |

I love The New Pornographers, Tegan and Sara, and Hot Hot Heat (although, technically they're from Victoria, but that's alright).

There are a countless number of bands from Toronto, but I love Metric, Billy Talent, Magneta Lane, and of course my beloved Death From Above 1979, in particular. A little piece of my heart shattered the day that DFA split.
controller.controller, illScarlett, MSTRKRFT, Hostage Life, Broken Social Scene and Pilot Speed are also worth checking out. I know I'm leaving out tons, but these are the ones that come to mind. |

Yeah, I had a topic on this already.
 Hrrm. Sadly, nothing but our punk bands come out of Pittsburgh.. and make it.  I like Anti-Flag, The Code, ClearviewKills, Demise of Eros, and Hope on a Rope, though.

ha my local bands are more metal : sagacity & enemy rising. + my friends are in there. but i dunno i haven't been exposed to much local music. I just pick up from my friends and whoever they know. Most of my friends only know metal groups though. This is in the Bay Area, Cali

Sadly, they're all really horrible. Although, most of the members from From Autumn to Ashes are from where I live. o.x |
