It's probably my all-time favorite book. That, and the rest of the series that goes with it. Anyone read it? I'd love to talk about it.

At my school, I had to read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow for english.

lol, did you like it? Or was it just another forced reading english assignment? That really surprises me, though. I wouldn't think of them as school reading. O.o

We had to read it Freshmen yeah for English class; I didn't like it as much as when we read Brave New World.

Blah, Brave New World. =x maybe I didn't like it because we did about 234234 utopian novels that year and I was tired of them.

My girlfriend has read both Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, and from what she's told me about it so far, it seems rather interesting.
Maybe I should consider reading it/them; from what I've read/heard, the praise it's received is quite up there.

I adore the Ender and Bean (or Shadow) series. Ender's Shadow and Speaker for the Dead are my favorites. I also like Enchantment by Orson Scott Card, which is more fantasy than sci-fi. He's a terrific author.

I read it in school freshmen year, too. I absolutely loved Ender's Game, and Ender's Shadow. I read a few other books in the series, but I hear that some of them are kind of boring. I like the action more than the philosophy.

I absolutely love this book to death!

I love Ender. The struggles he went through and every thought that went through his head were so real and so plausible despite him being a kid genius and war mastermind.

His relationship with Valentine was also really bittersweet. Though, I didn't like the authorities. To manipulate Ender like that and using/treating him more as a tool rather than a person really bothered me.

But nonetheless, I loved the book through and through. It's amazing.

Bean always fascinated me more. He seemed more talented, and his past was more interesting. Of course I loved watching Ender rise up and own in the battles. That was awesome.

The authorities were trying to do what was right...they were in a difficult predicament as well...sacrificing one person for mankind is the lesser evil.

I have only read Ender's Game, and I like it a lot :D Except the immature language. Like calling each other "fart."
My boyfriend has read almost every book in the series, and he keeps pushing me to read the rest.

I read this book in 8th grade. It was okay, kinda boring at first though.

Hmm...immature language. It was rather appropriate for little boys, though. It reminds readers that these soldiers were, well, just kids.

If you liked Ender's Game a lot, then you definitely should read the rest. I recommend reading Ender's Shadow first.

It's 10th grade reading here.
I think it was basically on perspective. All I remember is rewriting some parts from other character points of view and comparing/contrasting and why-ing.

one of my all time favorite's. i've read all in the series (so far.. he's writing 2 more, i heard! yay!) and so far my favorite is ender's shadow and its series.

man, orson scott card makes me a total nerd. i love how he mixes scifi and philosophy and humor and ahh, i love it. definitely.

I LOVE ENDER. I just finished reading Ender's Shadow last month or so. We read the former for our book of the month in Lit Guild; that's so cool that some of you get to read it for school!

yayy I'm so excited to see so many people have read it. Has anyone heard that they're actually planning a MOVIE? I'm hoping it'll be nothing at all like the book. That way it won't ruin the image I have in my mind for all the characters in the book.

My favorite characters tend to be Peter, Valentine, and in the later books I love the piggies, Petra, and Bean and the way Orson Scott Card made developed all these characters. After reading all the books, I felt as if I actually KNEW some of these people. Petra is an awesome female character and I admire her strength.

Has anyone read anything else by Orson Scott Card? I got halfway through Saints and hated it. O.o
