Ever tried it? I want to, although it would be time-consuming. Using a ginormous canvas is best since it'll make details stand out when re-sized. I know it takes a lot of patience and thinking, especially when adding when playing with lighting. But it all seems so fun. *sigh*

ive tried it. i froze my computer just about 30 times the last time.

don't start out with dresses. thats like asking for 30+ hours of work.

i'm so jealous of those people who are so utterly amazing at it.

I've tried. I've only done one, but I think it turned out pretty good.

I think it's pretty fun, but extremely difficult.

This lady, Melanie Delon, is amazing. Her paintings look just like photos.

I have a friend who usually paints color onto her work with OpenCanvas/Painter Classic and some other programs. I really love the color effects and how soft they appear.

She's really good!

This is an AMAZING tutorial. especially for gimp.

blaqheartedstar: That tutorial's pretty cool. I used this one for my cloud painting, except I didn't use a gradient or a brush.

I'd love to transition from vectors into digital painting. One of the best vectors I've done was inspired by digital painting (check the boots).

And deviant digital painters (other than the fantastic Melanie Delon):

Yes, Me too. _dry.gif I wish I could steal their talented... or maybe borrow it. hahahaha
I'll be like "May I borrow your talent?" heh.

Anyways, I've always wanted to try it too. They look amazing (most of the time), and it seems like it would be pretty fun, but time consuming. Maybe one day I will attempt to make something.

I have always wanted to! I'm always telling myself that I need to buy the new CS2 Suite and then a tablet. The only thing I think about is that..you have a job you're not going to have time. :( But I wanttt to.

I just started learning , Mostly with Dev Art tuts and studying others and how they paint , using a mouse isss time consuming. Took me 2 days to finish my last one, but its really worth it , the final product is gorgeous. I want to elarn how to digitally paint realistically though.
