Ok let me explain. I Beleive that there is a God. But i dont think that he/she/it is "personified" in otherwords i dont think that god (here on refered to as he) looks like a human or even talks. I beleive that god is a vast force of knowladge. I also beleive that the holy spirit is like a wisp of gasses (im not saying it is, but im saying its like it) and it is the thing that helps us when we truly need it. Also i think that Jesus did many great things and lead mankind to help us beleive in god, but i do not believe that he "died for our sins". And i dont beleive in hell. I think that we are re-encarnated after each life and we get a little bit of the knowladge we had in the previous lives. and our slates ar wiped clean everytime. We get as many chances on earth until we have earned our place on heaven. I think this is why our population is slowly rising each year. And i also think thats why the earth is so filled with evil. Its like hell. but not realy.
So obviously i have thought about this all ALOT! and ive come to these conclusions so far.

BUT....

Am i christian?

And if not what am i??

First of all. Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins? If not, then it's going to be pretty hard for you to say that you are a Christian.

Secondly. God is a He.

Thirdly. God created man in His image. Therefore He appears to be in human form.

Fourthly. The Holy Spirit is a spirit. I don't think that the Bible explains what He looks like. But considering God is three in one and one in three, then the Holy Spirit must be in the form of a human.

Fifthly. If you read the book of Revelations, it tells us that we only live once. We only get one chance at life and that's it. I actually read the verse yesterday. I'll put it up here later. It sounds like you're a Buddhist.

And for our population rising a little each year...How does reincarnation have any affect on this? It sounds to me that you're saying that people pop out of no where.

Sixthly. The earth is so filled with evil because man disobeyed God and has ever since the original sin.

You sound like you believe in many religions. I think that it's really good that you're searching. Good for you :D CHA. You sound Buddhist or agnostic [Believe there is a God but doesn't know for sure].

I would have to agree with Jake on this one. You sound like a buddist.

Everyone sometimes douts that they are christian. I know I have my days that I have little faith but then some days I am like for sure there is a god. It's not like your perfect.. Would you call your self christian? Do you ask Him to for give you for all your sins? Do you go to church?
You also have to ask your self if you do all the things that a christians do.

To be fair, going to church does not define a Christian. Just think of it more like a classroom.

Exactly, you do NOT need to go to church in order to be a Christian.

Well, I consider myself a Christian. I believe that in order to be a Christian you MUST believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, I don't believe that you have to ask for forgiveness everytime you sin because well that's why Jesus died on the cross so we could enter Heaven since were so sinful. Now, you don't have to attend church, I used to but don't anymore however I tend to read the Bible and other books on Christianity and I do pray. I believe that Jesus did once walk this earth LONG ago and he did die on the cross for our sins, that's just what I believe. If you believe he died on the cross and you try to best understand the Bible and try to follow it as much as you can, your a Christian. But you can't call yourself a Christian if you don't believe he died for your sins, if he didn't die on the cross in my opinion Christianity wouldn't exist because that's the whole point of Christianity, Jesus dying on the cross for our sins so we could go to Heaven. It would change a lot of things. As for the Holy Spirit being a gas, The Holy Spirit/ghost is not really a spirit and it's definitly not a gas but the presence of God or as some say the Spirit of God. As for God being Knowledge, I don't believe in that, God created the earth, he has UNIMAGINABLE powers, if he truly wanted to he could wipe out the whole earth in a half a second, just like that. Now, I don't believe that God is neither he or she even though the Bible does say He quite often in text...I believe God doesn't have a gender at all, he is afterall NOT human...now Jesus was a he but that was God in human flesh which is one of the reasons he sent himself in the flesh to earth because one God would be too bright to see and second he's not human.

Now, I am not sure what your religion is, it could be buddha but that doesn't really sound like buddha cause you said you believe in a God...buddha believe in - "buddha" heres a link about it - "http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/buddha"

Oh no problem!

However, I have to disagree that you said your roots lie in Christianity...most of the stuff you mentioned on your beliefs have nothing to do with Christianity at all. Now, if you mean because you believe that there is A God, that doesn't make you a Christian, actually you would probably be called a "Theist" which is a person who believes in God or a God in general. A Christian is someone who believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ, if you don't believe in what the Holy Ghost really is or that you think God is merely knowledge or that Jesus did not die for your sins, you cannot claim you are from Christian roots because Christians believe in just that - Jesus dying on the cross.

Deism - The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation.

^are you that?

What i mean by my roots lie in chritianity was that i was born and raised christian, thats all. But im maybe i am a Theist. That sounds sorta like me, but im still hoping that maybe there are other people out there more like me. Maybe there arent!?! Who knows, but really what i want to focus on is that i have faith, tho it may not be in christianity, but i am verry ritualistic and i thank god everyday for the head on my shoulders. just not in the conventional way.

Well, my boyfriend doesn't have a label. He believes that there is a possiblity of God but a possiblity of Evolution too. He doesn't dwell on it, doesn't read the Bible, pray or go to church. He has no wish to be a Christian. He does have a lot of knowledge and loves talking about the scrolls and the history but he doesn't hold a religion but if he was to be put into a catagory he'd probably be an Agnostic..he's unsure of the existance of God.

You sound like either a Deist or a Theist or maybe your nothing, you just have your own believes. You don't have to label yourself or be in a religion.

Oh so you grew up in a Christian home? What happend? lol...anyways I didn't grow up in a Christian home but a home where I was taught that Jesus and God existed...when I hit 22 or 23 i started attending church for almost 2 years but quit now I'm thinking about going back again =]

Who knows, but why does anyone have to label themselves or put themselves in catagories. I mean I don't see Christianity as a label but just a personal relationship with Jesus.
