Charming. You know full well that member bashing is against the rules. Your warning level will be raised, and the next offense will put you on mod preview. If member bashing isn't allowed I can point out several others that have disrespected me and called me a Moron and Homo several times. How come there not being sought out? ![]() |

Yeah, he did do a lot of work, but did he encourage the masses to work hard? Wait, did he encourage people to work hard, or did he encourage people to live the pimped out gangsta' life style... Yeah, so Tupac may not necessarily be the perfect role model. However, he was still very influential and charismatic; the people listened to him. The point is, he gained the reputation of being called " the rose that grew from concrete," basically showing people that there can still be success even if you grow up in the streets with no father and very little luxury. The stereotype is because of the association with Black people that lingers. In America, they have gone from the very bottom of social classes, as slaves. Slavery was of course, then abolished, and most everyone was set free. However, there were still negative associations made with Black people at the time, and thus segregation and all of that. Many were living in poverty, and even though the races are much more equal today, the fact that those who were in poverty were in poverty wasn't necessarily going to change. The equality just opened the door for everyone to have a chance at success. Of course, it's completely the person's choice to walk through the door or not. It's not like there haven't been people who haven't though. There's the CEO of American Express, Oprah, Barrack Obama, etcetera. Some people just don't have the motivation to get out of the streets, but I know there are plenty of kids out there with dreams and enough motivation to be a super hero, but I've got to say, it doesn't look easy to come out of poverty, and I guess some people either get very desperate (crime, id est, pushing drugs, stealing...) or just don't see it possible for them to make it. |

If member bashing isn't allowed I can point out several others that have disrespected me and called me a Moron and Homo several times. How come there not being sought out? ![]() Because they didnt call that moronic jagoff a moronic jagoff. I posted something much worse in the Sandbox Unholy Trinity post, 9th page. I'm actually suprised that its the "jagoff" line that pissed him off. If anyone actually buys into the notion that Black people are lazy, or that hiphop is the source of all suburban crimes, then think, "How many Black people do I really know?" Well, if I include you and Brownsugar, 1 black person. The question is which of you is black and which of you is white? I'm gonna go with you Brandon. Brownsugar just comes off as white. Now, I haven't really gotten into this debate much, but as for "Black people are lazy," off the top of my head I can think of Tupac Shakur who was known as a workaholic. Supposedly, all the work and recordings he did while he was alive is why he's still selling records today. Well the reason that Tupac is still selling records is because his mom is a moneygrubbing whore. Tupac is a prime example of one of these ghetto assholes. He's singing about how it's time for some changes, yet in real life he assaults directors and rapes woman. Some hardworking role model. P.S. He was shot 9 times too, but he died. I guess 50 cent needs one more bullet to finish the job. The next a-hole gangster will need 11 shots, then 12, and so on until the rapper Swi$$ Cheeze hits it big. |

I don't think there's such a direct relation between a social problem (gang violence) and a music style that appeared after said gang violence originated. It's as incongruous as putting the balme for all the speeding traffic accidents occured since the 1980's on Heavy Metal goons singing about speeding on their vehicle of choice.
So far, all it seems is that some people in here don't like hip hop culture. Which is fine. For another topic. |

QUOTE Imagine a 3 circle venn diagram with the circles being society, media, and upbringing, and the space they all occupy being the person. They all contribute to creating the whole, but cannot be individually held responsible for the actions a person commits. In the end, the person has to be held responsible for their actions, but that does not mean they were not influenced. We aren't blaming it all on the music, although... music plays a huge part in the gangsta' life style... these days the lyrics found in gangsta rap are almost like a template for what gangsta' should be or have. These ignorant muthers will actually buy into it. I'm not just talking about black people either... every f**kin race has their gangsta crew. I hate em all. |

Gang related violence occured BEFORE the "gansgta" culture as it's being understood in this thread was born. The three circle verbatim thing is for the chronologically challenged, since Causation laws disprove it.

^ You did not HAVE to say anything whatsoever, and you didnt have to make that utterly ridiculous last post, which added absolutely zero to the thread. Now, Rebecca has already stated that your next warning will put you on mod preview, and that last ppst didnt quite merit that, but STOP posting if you aren't going to add anything constructive. Next time will be mod preview. oh yes because mod preview is such a scary thing~ you have such a big epeen |

You really need to get out more.
In America there is a large variety of "ghettos" In Kansas the poor parts of town probably consist of whites In Cali you'll see hispanics, and blacks And in parts of LA you will find other races. I really disagree with the idea that any race is lazier, less able to succeed than another. |

The topic of this thread was not to say that they are lazier, it was that they stereo-type themselves and from that information they've been fed, base their lives around it. |
