^ It's called what it's called. They're not going to get all technical about it. Just as long as you read the rules and know who to nominate, there shouldn't be a problem.

As Krista said (marzipan) we would hope people would take atleast a minute out of their lives to read the three rules that are actually listed. Maybe we should start adding links to become a official member/designer so newer get that their different..

Then why you guys named this thingy only "Member" of the month and not Official Member of the Month or Designer of the Month, cuz like this you're confusing everyone. Since the title states simply "Member" that rule its kinda irrelevant like i've said before.
But jeez what do i know, i'm just a Member.

I nominate Heath21 b/c she's very intelligent and never seems to bash anyone.

Actually, I'm not sure if she's an official member. Oops. x_x

Yes! I can finally suggest Kurd Jam.

Edit: I thought we can nominate members? Mmm, I'll go read the rules una mas tiempo.

Edit again: Okay, officialy, I know I cannot nominate. So now I'm suggesting. :]

Actually, staff aren't allowed to vote in the member of the month thread, atleast I heard plenty about doing it sometime ago.. You have to wait til the end of the month to put your vote. pinch.gif

To Dani - then why did I have to hear from people all the time that I shouldn't suggest or vote for someone in this thread? o_O Because I specifically remember Kara saying something about it and then this : (won't let me quote)

I really don't have anything against Staff voting or even nominating. I just wish you guys would make up your mind and write it down in the rules or something

^Actually, that rule only applies to Staff Member of the Month. It's a rule that SHOULD apply to Member of the Month, but it doesn't. wink.gif

Um, may I buy a vowel please?

The voting doesn't take place here. Staff votes at the end of the month (as stated). We (staff) should NOT be voting here. However, a suggestion is fine. Semantics? Well yeah, totally. I just think that the Staff's appreciative voice for certain members piggybacked onto this thread somehow, since there isn't a place to really do that.

Technically (as I recall), Staff shouldn't really be in either *otM threads, at least in an official capacity. Again though, folks can be suggested (in either threads), however, any Staff "vote" in the Staff thread will not be considered and any Staff "nomination" in the Member thread will not be considered.

I think I worded that correctly. Feel free to correct me in any and all points if I'm wrong.

Congrats to Suzzette (brownsugar) for winning January's MotM! thumbsup.gif

How it works:

Everyone posts in this thread with the ONE person they believe has stood out the most during the month. The staff will then vote out of the nominations to decide who wins.

Rules:
- You must only make one nomination.
- You may not nominate yourself.
- You cannot nominate someone who's already won in the past 2 months.
- The member must be an Official Member/Designer.
- Staff may not make nominations.

Past Winners:
February 2006 - Rebecca (Zatanna)
March 2006 - Chii (Chii)
April 2006 - Jane (My Cinderella.)
May 2006 - Francesca (x__fcuk.)
June 2006 - Nate (Acid Bath Slayer)
July 2006 - Kathleen (Kathleen)
August 2006 - Anna (Azarel)
September 2006 - Tina (tic tac.)
October 2006 - Ian (The E-Man)
November 2006 - Eve (x_angawhomps)
December 2006 - Diana (a painefull euphoria)
January 2007 - Suzzette (brownsugar)

It seems favouritism rules these boards.

If you are saying that because a lot of the winners are/were staff. Well, you are wrong.
It isn't favouritism, They deserved to be MOTM. Because they were contributing to the forums, and that is also why they became staff (or were on staff).

What do you mean by contributing? Well, if you mean submitting wallpaper, icons, and designs of that such, then you're system is severely corrupt, because "contributing" to the boards sounds to me like nothing other than that.

I guess I'll just have to sit back and say the words I want typed into a microphone because I hit by a car and and unable to use my arms and hands extensively. So, I guess I'm just sorry God has designed his plan where I get Jewed out of an unfair system where you need your hands to "contribute" to cB.

Good day.

^^ Just wanted to point out that I got MotM well before I was hired. If anything, the trend seems to be that MotMs have a typically good chance of getting hired eventually.
