I know, I know another religion topic.

I am actually going through this right as of now. I've had 3 Christian friends I had to drop because of how they treated me so I thought I'd bring this topic up.

Why do most Christians have to argue with you on your beliefs no matter if your Christian or non-Christian. I mean...I had a friend of mine well actually 3 of them drop my friendship because I didn't believe exactly what they believed when it came to being a Christian. I told one person that I believe there IS a possiblity of evolution and he freaked out on me BIG TIME and stopped talking to me, another person freaked out on me because I said everyone has there own interpretations of what the Bible means to them or what God lays on there hearts...while another person got mad because they felt that if I disrespect them I am disrespecting "THEIR" God.

It just makes me so mad...why can't people just respect eachother and realize that everyone has there own beliefs in things. And when it comes to Christianity, as long as the person loves God isn't that should be what counts rather if they have the same beliefs or not. I mean for instance, I love God, I believe in Jeus and all of that, I read my Bible but I don't attend church and I don't believe, cussing unless using God's name in vain is wrong, I don't believe sex before marriage is wrong, anytime there is an argument I use my own thoughts and opinions I don't open up a chapter in the Bible and say: "Because, the Bible says right here!".

I just don't understand why people get so mad just because your beliefs are different then theirs?????

What do you mean not really? I've ran into several of them from different churches. I've noticed from your posts your not very open-minded you should try being more open-minded about things wink.gif

I know not everyone is like that but a big percentage are.

I'm going to have to agree with that... a large majority of Christians, or any devout followers of almost any religion are like that. Its sad. mellow.gif

90% of the Christians I know unfairly judge other people... whether its over them not being at church every single sunday, listening to non christian music, dressing immodestly (which some would say is wearing blue jeans)... ect ect, i could go on forever. And it seems like most of my Christian friends want to argue with me or anyone else who doesnt believe exactly the way they do.

But then again, the other 10% are some of the nicest people I know. So I guess it just depends. shrug.gif

But I definately get what your saying.

Because beliefs are a touchy subject. Who are you to say, "what you believe in is not true". So it turns into this uproar over personal beliefs.

Like somebody said before, I don't think that this should be directed at Christians only. To an extent (stereotypically), that may be true, but what about atheists? When atheists find out that I'm Christian, a lot of them are quick to ridicule. They find it stupid that I believe in this higher being, one that I can't "prove". ermm.gif It's really disrespectful! I don't challenge their beliefs, or lack thereof, but they challenge mine? So most of the time, I'm just trying to defend my belief. Then they spin it off as "you're trying to make me become Christian... lalalala". Uhh, no! If you don't want to be a Christian, I can't force you and I won't. But seriously, if you're going to challenge my beliefs, then expect me to defend it. I'm not going to sit back and watch you poke fun at it.

first of all not all christians are the same. I am not like any of the others. I would probley be called a non christain for all the stuff that I do that is wrong. I really don't care what other people think. Really, all I know is that I love god and he loves me. I ask him to forgive me for what I have done he dose. The church that I got to we all get up and dace and worship to the one who loves us. That is pretty much all we do. Plus we read some from the bible and thats about it. It's pretty cool. Nobody thinks that they are better at my church because we all know that we are f**ked up in our own little way.

First, I want to make this clear to EVERYONE in here, I am not saying that all Christians are like that, please read my other posts before you assume that. And secondly, just because I say "Christians" doesn't imply that I think that's the only religion that has wrong in it...I understand that others have it too but I mentioned christianity because that's the religion I was physically in so I brought that up. Just thought I'd clear those things up for you guys.

It just seems that way due to the title of the thread and because you mentioned Christianity throughout, saying things like,"Why do most Christians have to argue with you on your beliefs no matter if your Christian or non-Christian?" So yeah, might wanna edit the front page then...since some people don't bother to read the entire thread.

Some people just become extremely fanatic about their religion. It's not just Christians either. Look at Iraq. And I know there are atheists who become absolutely sickened at the though of a "God" even existing.

Fanatics tend to be closed-minded, and can't accept anything outside of what they believe. (Hmm... So many variations of "Christian.")

Unfortunate really.

So you're jeopardizing your salvation because of the character of other people?

My only input for this forum-

I don't think that by not going to church, he is jeopardizing his salvation. There are plenty of people who go to church who 'jeopardize their salvation' through hypocrisy. Why go to church at all if you plan on smoking weed and messing around with your boyfriend/girlfriend in the children's playground after service? (These are some of the disgusting things that happened at the church I used to attend.)

I am not going to re-edit my topic beause when I said Christians that's who I was referring to because I used to be one and I experienced it but I am not saying it's the only religion either.

well... then don't complain when people say the same comments over and over again & you have to repeat yourself over and over again.

i meant to just edit your post, not to exclude christianity totally, but to state at the bottom what you put in your previous post that i bolded.
