That was a mother of a run-on sentence, and please use paragraphs, because that was really hard to read. blink.gif

Well, no, it isn't necessarily true BECAUSE the media said it, but has it occured to you that media may have said it because it was true?

Sorry that it was so hard for you to read, I'll use paragraphs next time however I am not very good with that stuff lol.

Anyways....like I said when the shooting first happend, they believed a video game made him do it because they realized he was playing the game bofore the incident happend but when they sentenced him they realized from his meeting with a psyciatrist that in fact his reasoning was being bullied and he just cracked. Maybe in some cases the person is influenced by the video game or whatever but NOT always..other times it could be other reasons such as the columbine shooting being bulled or just being mentally screwed up in the head...some people dont have reasons for there actions...in the columbine shooting when they did an interview he said how sorry he was and started crying from what I heard when they asked why he did it he said - "i don't know" but when they asked if he was bullied in school he admitted to that.

What on Earth are you talking about? Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold shot themselves right after the Columbine massacre. When did they give this interview? While their brains were being mopped up?

Yeah, and who was he bullied by? Wait, who did this kid kill and injure?? He probably killed and injured a bunch of those gansta' rap listening jerks who were dicks to him day after day... Within the articles of the website you gave it does say he was bullied around...

Also, the articles you gave are stating that "violent" music definitely played a part in the shooting.

Oh, the whole thing about video games... ok, violent video games... Name a few of the violent video games out there that actually influence people to murder?
  • Saints Row - Xbox 360
  • Def Jam Vendettta - Xbox, PS2, GC
  • The GTA series - Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2
  • True Crimes: Steets of LA - Xbox, PS2, GC
All of these games influence people to murder and kill while listening to the hit singles of their favorite rap "artist". Even the most violent video games use this type of music/trash to influence murder. Many of them are full of racial slurrs too. It's this whole gangster life style peice of bulls shit that's being forced down the throats of American youth. It's not the games...

P.S: If you haven't yet read this... it's from my nigga dawg diggity da C-pilla':

Being black isn't an excuse for failing, since melanine excess hasn't been proved to be a cause for poverty. Other investigations have shown that educational, economic, social, material and political factors do have an impact on the individual's social development although a sensible use of common sense could have lead to a similar conclusion.

However, it doesn't seem like this topic's original intention was to debate anything but to make a "funny" (using the term as generously as I can, so bear with me); so to not fall off topic, I'll say "Lol, it's like the paint is drying."

^ You did not HAVE to say anything whatsoever, and you didnt have to make that utterly ridiculous last post, which added absolutely zero to the thread.

Now, Rebecca has already stated that your next warning will put you on mod preview, and that last ppst didnt quite merit that, but STOP posting if you aren't going to add anything constructive. Next time will be mod preview.

What gives you the right to put Josh's buisness all out for everyone else to see? How about you PM him instead of embarrasing him, I mean damn dude, learn some tact. If Josh feels he HAS to say something that's his buisness. It's people like you that abuse their power who make me sick to my stomach. You're like an ass hole gym teacher who tells the class out loud why the fat kid is failing. Stop being such a dick and keep people's buisness private.

I kinda agree. I think if someone does something bad they should be informed in a private message not publicaly.

READ THE ARTICLE.

I should have gotten rid of the part about "Who did he kill"... by the way, the article only says:
He killed:
  • His Parents
  • 2 Kids at School
He injured:
  • 25 people in the school
I read it and know who was killed, I guess what I'm saying is...
  • Were those kids that "bullied" him and pushed him to the edge gangsta' pricks?
  • Do you really think video games like DOOM did it?
If they were blaming it on games like GTA or True Crimes: Streets of LA then I might be inclined to agree with you. These games allow for the user to partake in mindless virtual serial killing "fun" while listening to their favorite gangsta' rap and racial slurs from nigger to spic. RockStar's new game Bully actually occurs in a school a school setting. If you were talking about these games I might agree with you..
Doom is:
  • Not about senseless murdering. Its about killing demons from hell, not civilians.
  • Extremely unrealistic (Guns, Gore, etc...)
Anyways, video games aren't the what we're talking about here... I think you should create a topic for this though. It might be an interesting debate.

---------------------------------------

Here's an interesting study I found about gangsta' rap: Does Rap Music Put Teens at Risk?

Hypothesis:
Teens who spend more time watching the sex and violence depicted in the "reel" life of "gangsta" rap music videos are more likely to practice these behaviors in real life.

Experiment:
Take 522 teenage black females from some less fortunate neighborhoods and compare behaviors of the ones who listened to gangsta' rap often with the ones who rarely listen to gangsa' rap for one full year.

Conclusion:
  • Three times more likely to hit a teacher
  • Over 2.5 times more likely to get arrested
  • Twice as likely to have multiple sexual partners
  • 1.5 times more likely to get a sexually transmitted disease, use drugs, or drink alcohol.
Just more evidence that suggests rap music is f**king up American youth... *sigh*

P.S. Thanks for sticking up for me guys... Health21, you should consider joining The Unholy Trinity. :]

I don't think they know why he did what he did, since he kept saying - "I don't know" me personally, I don't think it was video games that influenced him I think he was just screwed up in the head or he really was bullied...depression could be another result since depression affects so many people world-wide and different people react differently to it. who knows.

If you've read my other posts you would know I'm one of the few people that was stating that doesn't believe video games or movies promote violence...I don't...I think every person has there own brain and how they react to things, they know right from wrong...ect..

He may have only killed 2 kids and injured quite a few but it's still violence and it was still committed and if I remember correctly he also got like 111 years in prison or something like that for what he did.

Seriously, Black people have every reason to be proud of being black, and every reason to be ashamed. Its the same for all races. So stop trying to say anyone who talks negatively about people are rascists and ignorant, they're voicing their opinion based on the info available to them. True, there are lots of people who are for whatever reason unjustly biased against blacks or whites or spanish. But these ignorant dumbasses can't use computers(they're too stupid) so stop trying to make the people here feel guilty for your own misgivings about society.

It is moderator policy to point things out in threads. And as he had specifically addressed a reply to me, I addressed one to him. Furthermore, it serves to demonstrate to other members what is and what isn't considered to be within the Community Guidelines. But given that you're so keen for everything to be done 'appropriately', or what have you, take any future complaints to the moderator performance thread. And please do explain there how exactly you think I'm abusing my powers. End of discussion in this venue, as far as I'm concerned.

If anyone actually buys into the notion that Black people are lazy, or that hiphop is the source of all suburban crimes, then think, "How many Black people do I really know?"

Now, I haven't really gotten into this debate much, but as for "Black people are lazy," off the top of my head I can think of Tupac Shakur who was known as a workaholic. Supposedly, all the work and recordings he did while he was alive is why he's still selling records today.

Alright, this conversation isn't about black people... it's not about races. It's about the bullshit brought about by this gangsta' stereo type... The statement "Being Back is No Excuse for Failure" is not racist at all. It's true, and if it's anything it's definitely not racist. It's encouraging. We believe black people can do anything, and that being black is no excuse for failure.

Also, who stated that hiphop is the source of all suburban crimes? We are stating that gangsta' rap encourages crime, but we do not think that it's the source.

If anything, contemporary capilatistic western societies don't allow everybody to succeed in practice despite theory may suggest otherwise.
