HAPPY (lunar) NEW YEAR.

I think it's either this weekend or the weekend after. But have you got any plans?

It is on the 18th of February.

I have nothing planned. Stay at home , then go out to eat. The usual.

I will go and hot pot, and then get lots of cash. :) I love Lunar New Year. That's the ONLY time my family is all together.

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR. I JUST HAD TO TYPE THIS POST IN RED BECAUSE IT'S FOR LUNAR NEW YEAR.

So, every year, the night before new year's, my family gets together and has a big dinner. Then we have another one the next night. I'm going to this fair on Saturday and Sunday and going to a couple of relative's house. Oh, and I'm getting moola. whistling.gif

Oh yea. I forgot about the money.

Well since my relatives are in sunny CA while I am here in cold NJ, I don't get money from them on the new year. I either get it when I go visit them in the summer or they mail it.

My parents don't give me money because I can always ask them.

Yeah on the 16th, I'm going to have relatives dinner. But I don't think I'm going to get red packets that soon.

All I know is it's going to be festive and lots of red stuff, like red candies, red packets, red clothings, red food, etc.

I'm going to be showing off my Chinese pride!!
(actually, all my cousins are more 'Chinese' than I am..)

Omg I'm excited because of all the red packets I'm going to be getting _smile.gif dance.gif

^ Maybe because you aren't Asian?

The Lunar New Year is also known as Chinese New Year. Most Americans don't really celebrate that.

Yeah, I like Lunar New Year for the same reasons Ann does. I like being with my family for dinner and getting hung bao (red envelopes).
