The reason i posted this up is cause my friend and I have been watching various korean dramas and movies , example My Sassy Girl, Winter Sonata, My Girl, Death Note . And we have been trying to decipher the language, lol just for fun.

So anybody korean please correct me. I wanna know if me and my friend got it these words/phrases right! :

-Mother - Uma
-Wanna die? - Chu Gu Lie
-Yes, no maybe - De
-Remember - Inunde

I'm efficient at a level two Japanese language.

Mother - Uma. Yes that's right.
Wanna die? - Chu Gu Lie. It's more like "Jugoleh?" Or, "Neo jugoleh?", but yes, that's right.
Yes, no maybe - De. Sometimes it sounds like de but it's "Neh." And that's for yes. No is "ahnioh", "ahnya" or "ahnee", maybe is...I don't know what maybe is.
Remember - Inunde. You're probably thinking of 있는데, and I'm not sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure it's not 'remember'.

I'm not Korean btw. I just watch enough Kdramas/listen to enough Korean music to know a lot of random phrases, just like you! Haha.

i wanna leaaaarn korean. but i'm learning japanese right now. yeaaaahh.. I get help from a korean friend who knows Japanese fluently. I want him to teach me Korean too but he thinks I'll get confused. I guess he knows I'm slow. Darnit.

The only phrase I know in Korean is "Yogiwah" which means "Come over here!" I think. I forgot..

I just finished Spanish 3 (currently learning Spanish 4), so anyone who wants to learn some Spanish can ask me.
And I'm almost fluent in Mandarin. My grammar in Chinese is horrible. OH, but I can't write much. I only know a few characters.

Well in Korean dramas, someone is always saying that. That is so sad.

If you were to go to Korea, all you could say are Mom, yes, no, maybe, remember, and "Wanna die?"

I've always wanted to learn Italian, because it sounds really nice and smooth. I have Polish people who married in on my mom's side of the family, and the way that Polish is written looks really cool. lol, that would be my motive for learning that language.

i took italian last year - mostly, because i'm just infatuated with the language. it's gorgeous and smooth like honey =] i want to live in rome someday. unfortunately, i'm a total doof when it comes to languages, and i gave up after a few months. i'm taking spanish this year, and it's much more practical for me.

my favorite italian phrase - BON GIORNIO! [oh gosh, don't even think i spelled that right...] it sounds like BWON JORNOH. it means GOOD MORNING =]

Ah, yeah I know that. When I was little I used to watch Godfather 2 and try to say what they were saying I really wish there was a class somewhere where I live that I could take. My school offers, Japanese, Latin, German, Spanish, and French. Even sign language, and no Italian. haha.

^ Wei in Mandarin is "for", but it's commonly used for "why". You need to say "wei shenme?", though, which means, "what for?", or "why?"

Hello in Mandarin is "ni hao".

Dongseng...isn't that for a male? Yeodongseng is female, no?

The way I'm familiar with it...

Hyung - male who is older than you, and you are a guy.
Noona - female who is older than you, and you are a guy.
Oppa - male who is older than you, and you are a girl.
Unnie - female who is older than you, and you are a girl.
Dongseng - male who is younger than you.
Yeodongseng - female is is younger than you.

"Ni hao" means "How are you?"

I know how to translate Chinese into English but not the other way around. I can only translate some Taiwanese (like two words) and say some Taiwanese (two words).

But thats pretty good for a person who has never been to Chinese school.
