I don't find it rude to ask what someone's name is during a conversation. I mean, if they don't remember then...okay! I'm not offended when someone forgets my name, it's not anyone's fault.

It's happened to me before ... I felt bad I didn't remember his name so I just asked someone else lol and voila! Although I know some people don't get offended others take it almost as an insult or something pinch.gif

That happens a lot especially when I old friends come to visit; I feel bad because they remembered my name but I couldn't remember theirs.

that happens to me sometimes, although not too often. it's my mom that is so forgetful - she'll blank on someone's name and ask me who it is right before they say hi. similar to the devil wears prada situation in which meryl streep doesn't keep track of the people who will be at the party, but anne hathaway knows =]

I'm usually pretty good with names but there are occasional times where people know my name and I dont even know who they are. Like I dont think that I have ever met them yet they know my name. So I think and think how they could possibly know my name, through a friend, a class, and then I feel bad that I dont know their name. & then there are other times when ive just completely forgotton a persons name and I know that they had told me. Then I feel extra bad.

But people forget my name all the time either that or they call me the wrong name, like it starts with the same letter or sounds close, julie, julia, jodee, jessica something like that but NOT my name & I hate when I get called the wrong name or mistaken for someone else. That really sucks when not only does someone forget your name but they think you're someone else its like 3490328402arggghhhh!

Yeah, I talk to 6th graders all the time, and they all look alike to me, so it's pretty hard to remember their names. So it'll be like, "Hi Stephanie! Remember me?" and then I'll say, "Uh, yeah...What's your name again? Sorry, I forgottt..."
