My friend did a very, very long essay recently on the correlation between one's height and one's success in the world of employment. Studies have shown that generally, the taller you are, the better your chances are of getting hired or moving up.

So you know how employers are supposed to hire you wihout considering race, ethnicity, disabilities, etc.? Well, do you think that despite that, there's stilll some bias leaning toward how attractive you are?

To be completely honest, I believe that generally, life is easier when your attractive. It doesn't guarentee you success at all, just as the opposite doesn't mean failure, but I know some very, very popular stores who will only hire people who "fit their image." hammer.gif My teacher also told us that her boss once told her that he hired her because he thought she was pretty. zipped.gif

I'm 5'8". Possibly 5'8.5" now.

I've heard about this before and even though it's disappointing for some people, it's the truth. :\

false.: No, that's not true. There was one basketball player who wasn't even six feet tall or something...Nate Robinson? If you've truly got talent they can't reject you just because you're not tall enough by the NBA's standards. In fact, it'd be stupid on their part to be that biased about height.
