I truly feel that mod's don't get what they deserve, but you know... brownsugar is right... I can't do anything about it.

I hear about people quitting all the time. Why are so many people quiting? Seriously... being a MOD must not have enough benefits... if it did, people would stay, and work hard to stay.

I know why some of you do it, but krnxswat you make fun of people all day long... you offend people as much as you possibly can. I don't understand how you can even apply for staff... I don't even know why people like you. You literally scare new members away. I Shot JFK, Azreal, and Kathleen are like the trio... you guys will gang up on anyone who shares an opinion other than your own.

Ugh, all this stuff is true... I see it all the time. It makes the website so unattractive. You know, I probably make this website seem unattractive too. Delete my application.

I quit because I got a job and that would be taking up a LOT of my time.

Other people quit because of school, family problems, athletics.

Look. You have been told what the benefits of being a mod are. What do you WANT them to have?

When people quit, it is, he vast majority of time, with regret, and for reasons involving their lives offline. NOT because they dislike the job.

There is a difference between ganing up on people who do not share our opinions, and defending our friends when other people are attacking them. how you cannot see this is beyond me.

And yes. you DO make this website unattractive. I'm sorry, but hearing you whine CONSTANTLY is far more off putting than seon ho, who is at least funny, most of the time. If there WAS a big underlying problem with the sie, do you not think that SOMEONE would have come to your defense, or pointed it out of their own accord loudly enough to be heard?

Let me explain teh concept of an incentive. It is something which is used to motivat epeople to do something. In this case, to aply for staff. As there have been 21 applications thus far, i would say that evidently YES, the current incentives are enough!

It is really, very, very, simple.

Also, there is a difference between several people cactively bonding together to demoralize and belittle someone ('ganging up'), and several people thinking on eperson is wrong. Josh is NOT being ganged up against in anyway. He is merely repeatedly stating something which other people disagree with.

Hmmm. I wasn't going to post this, but I figured it would be relevant and helpful given the discussion at hand.

I'm not going to be a dick and single anyone out. I just feel, in my humble opinion, that most of the people applying for people staff are not qualified. There's a difference between being a well liked member, and being a leader. It's quite evident that many of the applicants lack the intrinsic motivation required to be a staff member. It sounds like some people feel that they deserve to become staff and that if they don't get it, it's going to be some grave injustice for all the "work" they put in.

Insincere compliments and impersonal queries do not make a good staff member. Personality and engaging discussions do. Like one time for example, I was chillin' out, maxin', relaxin', all cool, and all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys they were up to no good, started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, and said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought, "Nah, forget it. Yo home to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8, and I yelled to the cabby yo holmes smell ya later. Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.

Well, he's not applying anymore, so i suppose we can move on.

I feel that, out of the current applicants, Tina and Rachel should be appointed as People staff. they have both put huge amounts of time into Cb, are well liked and repsected, and would make strong contributions to the staff team.

Kathleen and Anna both ought to be appointed to their design positions, as both have proven themselves to be more than capable in those areas. no more needs to be said.

I feel like Melissa and Jane are both absolute sweethearts, but I'm concerned abou their toughness levels, and I can't picture them making tough decisions. If this were american idol, i would say they had nice voices, but lacked the x-factor. Of course, both could potentially make excellent mods (I wasn't entirely convinced when robbi was appointed, and she turned out to be a really strong member of staff, so by all means, they could prove me wrong). So, depending on the number of places which the mo are looking to fill, I would say possibly.

As far as the other peole staff applicants are concerned, I feel they lack the necessary experience... i dont know them well, in some cases i didnt even recognize their usernames when I started posting more frequently a week or so ago. This to me says that maybe no wis not their time.

I don't feel well-equipped to make judgements on the other design staff applicants.

no, i'm not going back to conflicting matters, but i guess since you don't understand the whole incentives thing, ill explain it. yes, i do think that one's incentive for being on staff should be to help people. like kiera and many others have said, it's not just a title, you're actually here to help the community and better it at the same time, not sit there and say "hey, i'm a mod and i have my own subdomain, and i'm not going to help you because i'm above you." that's definatly not the point of it.

btw, each member of the staff already recieves a sub domain as pointed out by kristina (you.cbstaff.com).
