Slightly bad timing here and I apologize but I just want to clarify that one does not need to have a blog to become an Official Member. He/she can just PM an admin explaining why he/she wants to become one; no questions asked. :)

The way I see it, I think theres alot more potential members out there that meet alot of the qualifications. It takes time to know who they are, but I also see it as since this is a new year, why not put some new changes on the staff. Everyone wants to improve and I think the staff wants to improve also. Theres alot of members here now that have the potential to be come great members and great staff's. I know the mods look out for those who have the best chance, and it can't always be the old members who applied over time during the course of hiring seasons, new members have also came upon here and everyone deserves an equal chance. It's those who put their impression on others is what makes them more vulnerable to a chance on a staff like james(I Shot JFK) for example, He put's good impressions on others because I feel he speaks his mind freely and has great opinions that people share upon on. Maybe the point im trying to make is to those who feel like they don't have a chance or feel like quitting because they didn't get picked. Is that you should take time and consideration and think how you do in the forums, maybe ask questions why or what do I need to fix. This forum is a great community and everyone here is their own unique personality and thats why I love coming here. I'm sure the mods would choose the right people fit for the job.

^ I'm not sure exactly what you meant... was that a criticism or a compliment?

could you try and be a little bit clearer?

ATTENTION**

Staff members will be open to holding interviews with all applicants. If don't mind being interviewed and having it posted backstage please either edit your application with your contact information or PM an Admin or Head Staffer. Thanks! _smile.gif

... and even Tina

blink.gif What was that supposed to mean?

I probably shouldn't be doing this, but I just had to add in my opinion..

I don't believe that a paragraph is enough to prove that you deserve to be on staff. You have to show that you deserve it. But, most of the people applying [I'm referring to people staff, mostly] haven't shown it.

Krista: I know you made a mistake last time, but everyone deserves a second chance, right? So far, you haven't showed that you deserve the second chance.
Ann: I've yet to see the dedication and passion in actions.
Jane: I think you're quite ready. Just cut back on a bit of the shorter replies though. I know you have some good opinions and ideas. thumbsup.gif
Stephanie: I have seen you post quite a bit in Xanga help and technically you're ready to be on staff. I'm not really sure about your maturity level.
anime.essence: You make a lot of contributions and help out a lot. I think you're qualified and would probably do well.
Diana: Stop with the chef-to-moderator comparing. It just ruins your chances. 16 hours a day? 8 hours to sleep, mod cB, and do other things? Don't think so. I don't understand half of your posts most of the time and I get confused.
Rachel: She knows what's going on and how things go. I think she deserves it. thumbsup.gif
Mike: Whoops almost typed cookie there. sweating.gif I WANT MORE OF THOSE POSTS! *points at post complimenting James*
Shelby: Like many others, you should start showing that you deserve it. But I bow down to you, oh worthy one. worthy.gif
James (I Shot JFK): I know he's had some problems, but I believe he can do much to improve this community. Like Mike said, he's not afraid to speak his mind.
Mel: I know you've had experience, but cB is much different from that. I know this has been said many times to you (and maybe in different ways..) but mature a little, okay?
Seon Ho & Kryo: Well, that would be interesting, wouldn't it?
Anna: I think I've already said this, but she deserves it. She's been picking up the slack in the resource center and she knows what she's doing.
Josh: Whatever you're applying for, I don't think you're fit for the job.

I know I missed some people, but I haven't really been able to look around the resource center that much. pinch.gif

.. Ok, I'm done. *goes to dumpster*

Well, my application has nothing to do with redeeming myself. I see that this site needs something, and I'm ready to find out exactly what it is. I'll do my best if I'm on staff.

No, you should already be cognizant of what this site needs. Not 'I'll find out when I become a staff member.' It doesn't work that way.

QUOTE
Do I want to be on staff?
Hmmmm, I wouldn't mind.

They say being desperate is never too good. I guess it's wrong for your case, however.

QUOTE
I do feel as if the staff members are used and abused.

Do you have any valid and reasonable evidence to support your statement?

QUOTE
They need to find ways to give staff members benefits for being on staff...

Are you saying staff members don't get any benefits? How would you know? How are you going to 'find ways to give staff members benefits for being on staff" when you would be part of that staff? Are you just going to walk in and proclaim "Hi, I believe we deserve more benefits!" How obsurd.

QUOTE
At the moment it seems like the only thing you receive is "extra responsibility". This is no incentive to work hard.

We all want something. Why? Because there is an incentive. Sir, what you just wrote was a fraudulent statement. I'm sure they're also looking for someone real and honest to hire.

Yeah, they are mine.

No body likes me xD, especially krnxswat... I mentioned him in my application. XD

Do you know exactly what it is. I have ideas and I'm willing to do my job but I'm not a mod yet. So I don't know exactly what I can do. Every position has it's limits.

I think you guys should tell me what incentives a mod gets for being on staff. What do your receive for your services as a mod? A world of stress :D!!!! I know a few of the mods... can you guys even put this job on your resume?

A subdomain.

But seriously. Why do you have to have an incentive? It isn't fair to all those who don't mind really getting an incentive. You don't always have to have an incentive to do something. I got on because I liked to help people, share my knowledge. That was my incentive.

Yes it's stressful, but so what? What isn't these days. You have a whole family of people (other mods) backing you up.

Why did you apply anyway if you're going to complain..? Like Kristina said, most mods are mods because they like to help. You, Josh, don't seem to be helping right now.

I guess I want to get on staff so I have a say in what goes on... I'm sick of seeing people get bashed. I'm sick of seeing my girlfriend get stuck with loads and loads of work, because no-one else will do it. I want to help her mostly. That's my incentive. I see her getting stuck with all this work all the time. I want to help her.

I would like to find creative ways to motivate staff members to work hard and do their jobs. Honestly, I don't know what kind of power I will have as MOD. I can't say exactly what I want to do. I honestly don't know what I will be able to do. I have never been a mod before, but I'm sure there will be things that I can do. I will do my best.

I would love:
- Accepting/Rejecting the graphics... some of the real grimy work on this site.
- Enforcing the rules so that CB enjoyable community.

I would not want to:
- Accept/Reject layouts.... I don't know enough about coding.

Everyone has an incentive. Seriously. Don't deny it. It could be something small or something big. Maybe you want the powers of a staff member. Or perhaps you want the subdomain. You can help people as a regular member.

Everyone has their incentives.

Not to give away any answers (too late), but your incentive should be to want to help, do a good job and be a part of a wonderful and able team. Your incentive shouldn't something along the lines of a Janet Jackson lyric ("What have you done for me lately")

I'm glad there's some real commentary going on here though.

/edit after reading Sean Ho's post - True, everyone has an agenda, so-to-speak but that absolutely shouldn't be the underlying reason why you'd want to be a moderator.

No one forces your girlfriend to work hard, she does it because she chooses to. Her work towards this site is noticed and appreciated and she knows that. And if she doesn't then she needs to speak to me. Stop making her look like a victom.

And People staff don't reject or accept layouts and such. Only design staff does that.

Oh, absolutely. I wasn't saying that should be the only reason why you want to be a staff. I was speaking in addition to those incentives you stated, and was pinpointing out people that stated they have no incentives. And that's false.

you guys are right.

I'm not good for this... I feel like to much needs to be changed and it can't be... it's been one way for so long...

Brownsugar, you are right too... I guess I am more aware of Holly's work... she's my girlfriend, and I probably hear more about it than anyone else.

I do want to be a hero I guess... but you're right.. I can't be...

I guess I'm going to change my application. BRB
