What's the most unusual phrase you've ever heard?
My friend thought it was weird that I said "get it down pat."  She never heard that phrase before.

Mrrm.. I thought it was weird when I read/heard Anna write/say, "Hella."
 At the same time, does anyone know what chipped ham is?

In another thread, I read the phrase "Stop breathing my air, bitch!", which I found highly unusual, but rather amusing. But I've never understood the phrase "chip off the old block." I know what it means, but it's still weird to me.

I suppose the phrase, "cruel to be kind" was one of the weirdest ones, simply because I never understood how it made sense. But my boyfriend finally explained it to me today over the phone, so now I get it.
