Definition

Some people get confused or don't really know the complete definition for "Anime" or "Otaku" is. So here are the definitions to help you out!

Anime: a style of animation originating in Japan. It is sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Japanimation. Anime is characterized by stark, colorful graphics and stylized, colorful images depicting vibrant characters in a variety of different settings and story-lines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. Anime may be broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVDs or published as console and computer games. Anime is usually influenced by Japanese comics known as manga.


Otaku: a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga.

The only Japanese I know is what I've picked up through fansubs and music. Haha.

Well, manga too, but yeah. It's all about being immersed in the language. It helps out a lot.

i had to take a class to learn the fundementals of the japanese language
i barely passed.
with out anime id probably still be there =p

I'm buying a program from staples thats going to help me learn Japanese. I'm going back to my homeland near my birthday and were stopping by japan for 4 hours woot woot! :D

anyways, i've only watched like 10 minutes of FMA. It's pretty weird, lol.
I preffer shows like Ouran High School Host Club [it's over with :(]. I like randomness x]

i'm watching goong right now. and i must say, i loooooooove it. i think it's a good choice for my first korean drama. lolz i want to download the scans for the manga though. there's a part of me that hopes the manga is at least, somewhat, different from the drama. i kinda have my mind set on the couplings i want.

^ I'm definitely rooting for Shin x Chae Gyong. Mostly because it's that painful kind of love that takes a while to recognize. I think that in the end it'll be all the more worth it.
