My friends and I were arguing with a few 12 year olds (don't ask... the bus gets boring) and I was telling them about the Flying Spaghetti Monster and one of the kids calls me an ugly monster. I really didn't know how to respond.

So my question is, how do you respond when someone calls you ugly, jokingly or not?

Haha. Yeah I have a buddy icon that says "your mom. the all-purpose comeback."

But for me, I'd probably either say thanks and think of some witty comeback, or just walk away.

"Keep my mom out of this, and I'll keep THIS" -indicates- "out of your mom"!

I laugh it off and tell them I appreciate their feedback. Insults just seem to bounce off of me when I don't know a person well.

I really wouldn't give a care in the world because it don't mean anything. Like they say.. you are who you are in the inside and that's all that matters.

Unless a close friend of mine said that I was ugly in an honest way, it probably would matter to me or just bother me but if they're a close friend I should let it go haha.

Or if a guy that I was crushing on said that. THEN it would matter only cause it always matters for me what a guy thinks about me... which is bad I know.....

Y'know, that's the thing. Little kids seem more brutally honest than your peers. So I think it'd be worse if a little kid called me ugly. laugh.gif But even so, if one of my peers said I was ugly, I wouldn't let it bother me. I'd probably have something to say back, but that's about it. mellow.gif Jokingly, or not.

How I normally respond to insults from my brother is, "Yeah, I know you are. You know, you should really stop putting yourself down all the time. It's bad for your self-confidence."
And it works quite well. biggrin.gif

I usually give my short, "ha" laugh, and smile.
and shake my head.

Basically brushing it off.

well, if its a little kid i'll probably say 'thanks,' and just ignore them

but anyone older, i'd say 'thanks, but you don't look much better'

typical.. "I know you are, but what am I?", "Yeah, I know you are. You know, you should really stop putting yourself down all the time. It's bad for your self-confidence."
or "have you looked in the mirror lately? " and the classic your mom.

if it was a little kid i would say, "Oh yeah? Well you may look cute now but wait until you hit puberty." biggrin.gif

if it was a kid my age i would say, "That's nice." which i usually say to stuff i could care less about.

Agreed. thumbsup.gif

I would be like.... "Excuse me? Why don't you try looking at yourself in the mirror, then come back to me and say IM ugly."
