So I'm kind of addicted to making myspace layouts now, though this one was partly inspired by me wanting to get rid of that disastrous one that currently graces myspace - too much faffing about with code that, imo, still hasn't been fixed. Still need to image map the links but other than that, this one is mostly done. Comments/criticism very welcome.

I do not mean to be mean. but I'm going to critique it.

I think there is a lot of room for improvement. The scratchy border around the sides, and almost a lot of the graphic looks very low quality..perhaps it wasn't saved on the best settings for the graphic. The links show off to the side on the right..but..

Anywho, I think it's fine. I think that he should be more pronounced, but the way it is is fine. The text is what bothers me. Stick to one or two fonts that match your image. I don't really think Carpenter ICG works here. The "about me" is fine; stick to that kind of font, it matches well. But I do like the images you used for him, especially the one on the right. (:

Thanks and thanks for the comments. It does look kind of hideous in 800x600 screen res. I made it for 1024x768 but realise that not everyone is on that so I should have made sure it would look okay in both. Oh well.

The colors are nice. The pattern you used over the image & the outline on the jagged edges makes it look low quality. Next time try to be more simplistic with your design, I think it would come out better.

I think you should try a different border and them save it with higher quality.
Only other complaints is it should be centered and maybe break up the one huge box, so you can have a smaller section for About me and maybe include the comments :)

I hate to save it as a .gif file to preserve the transparency of the torn paper look border, if that has any bearing on the low quality of it? And I wanted to do a black border, but haven't quite figured out how to make the line thinner. Any ideas?

The background texture is probably poor because it was orginally a smaller texture that I transformed to fit my purposes. And Whimsical One, what do you mean by center it? It is centered...isn't it?

And Ralph501, yeah, I know. I forgot to put that you have to view it in 1024x768 screen res, because I haven't put the code in to shrink the tables and center them yet, so it shows in 800x600. Thanks.
